The lyrics to this song are a kind of palindrome i.e. they mirror themselves. Can be interpreted in a variety of ways. At first I thought it represented the process of living and then the process of dying (hence why the lyrics get mirrored and are sung in reverse in the 2nd half). Now though I’m kind of thinking it might have something to do with shared experiences across generations of humanity. Either way, one of the more mysterious and enigmatic songs on the album. Especially considering the concept of a “weave” is mentioned in multiple songs throughout the album. If anyone has any other interpretations of the lyrics, I’m all ears. Also, Kai’s drumming on this one is killer and Floor’s final “LIIIIIIIIGHHHHT!!!” 😱🤯

Finally you reacted to this song, I was waiting for it. I consider it the best on the album. In fact, it became my favorite from Nightwish. Its construction is incredible, with a wealth of details designed by Thuomas' genius mind. The instrumentation is all perfect and Floor's vocals are magnificent, surreal. What an amazing song, I've heard it a hundred times. A fan made a montage with the orchestra version and added Floor's voice, it was incredible. Thanks for reacting.

It reminds me a lot to the Tale of Mr Scrooge album. Kind of a Disney score with a spooky and dark vibe. Fabulous!

you are right about bits seeming familiar from previous songs .. Tuomas has said the album has loads of eastereggs hidden deep inside from the lyrics, music to the video's and artwork.

Tuomas has mentioned easter eggs throughout this album and this track contains my absolute favorite. Floor’s initial vocals, which are repeated throughout, are inspired by “Morning Mood”, part of the Peer Gynt suite by Edvard Grieg.
