Nike needs to start lowering their running shoe offset to 8mm & 6mm offerings. Those midway offsets been a great sweet spot not only for myself, but for many runners now. This allows the foot to be closer to a more natural position. The days of 10mm are long over and done when you can easily compensate midsole volume with just adding more to the stack height.

"we have researched saying more is needed." Super shoes do in fact work, it's been scientifically proven. Blame the original 4% for this sudden shift. It's not just feet, it's injuries in general. Can you honestly say that injuries are not a problem, esp. for those doing high volume? The stack has increased because the foam is softer, ultimately trying to optimize for a proper ratio shock absorption/energy return based on what a shoe is geared for. We can play this game and go back to the original Nike waffle shoes and say there was no reason to take things further than that. Of course that would be silly as innovation has indeed happened
@josemaioral

This feeling of insufficient cushioning is clearly linked to the adaptation of the feet to this huge amount of extremely soft shoes with a midsole the size of a mattress! This will be increasingly common in new generations created with sneakers like the NB 1080. Extremely comfortable, yet another horror when you think about performance even in basic training. If we think about the size of this midsole and the quality of this material, compared to the shoes we used to run a half or full marathon with no problems, a decade or two ago, we can see how absurd it is to think about insufficient cushioning in these shoes. Yes, it is the price of excessive comfort that is increasingly unpreparing runners for performance shoes that prioritize performance, whether in competitions or in quality training.

Sometimes I really wonder if Nike is stretching their stack height numbers a little bit. The Peg 39 was supposed to be over 20mm in the forefoot, yet if I sit them side by side to my original Novablasts, they sit lower, and my NB1's have a lot more miles in them. Seems like a stretch to me. Anyways, Nike Vomero 17 on a heavy discount it is.

This is my favorite shoe of the year for slow and midtempo runs. It feels low to the ground in the forefoot and the upper is amazingly comfortable. If you go fast in it, it's not doing much for you. You have to do the work, so it's a perfect training shoe. I don't like squishy monsters like the More v5 or the Glycerin Max, the Pegasus works just fine for a forefoot and midfoot striker like me. And I can run very fast in these as well, the geometry and the toeoff work fine for me. I can't understand the bashing about it. The purpose of this shoe is clear and it does the job very well. If you're looking for a versatile training shoe that doesn't do bells and whistles for you, but requires you to do the work, here you go.

It absolutely buffles me how people complain about that Turbo NN. Incredible shoe. I got 2 of them. First pair i still use for everything, has currently close to 1100 km on. Like my toes are really really touching the ground. Same impression my wife said when she tried a 41, she currently has a 40. Not sure if its because the ReactX foam compressed too much on that part or a difference in the rocker. Something I dont feel in the Peg 40.

I've always thought that running shoes for longer runs should be comfortable. Lol, my KD 16s (basketball shoes) had more cushioning than the 40. Nike should have gone at least 30mm in the forefoot for the Peg41. Design-wise this was a solid 10 out of 10. Comfortable-wise, I do not recommend it for beginners. Might as well choose from the Duramo series from Adidas.
