What they do in social media and in their spare time is completly irrelevant. It might have been so in America for a few decades and this might also be the reason why Europeans is taking over your league. Americans youngest forcus is to become famous, European (sucsessfull) youngest is to become best. Jokic is a basketball player and a freeking good one. His job is to play as good as possible and he dosnt spend his time and energy on usless social media, he and other Europeans practice and performes where it matters.

I think the main thing I have a problem with with people who idolize/worship celebrities is that they are just normal people who are really good at something and being recognized for it. Your probably a better painter or something like that compared to an NBA player or celebrity but since people hold celebrities at such high esteem they view them as people who like descended from heaven or something like that when in reality they’re literally normal people.
