I've been using the same Phottix grip for my D700 for over two years. It's a workhorse! Never a single problem!

I got one, it's made of plastic and not magnesium alloy, but not necessary for me anyways, the rubber grip is kinda hard, no grip on those, feel for the buttons are different but that's just being too picky. For that kinda price, its worth it.

Helo everyones... I installed genuine grip to nikon d700 with 8x aa battery. I choosed mb d10 at first in d11 manu. When i turned on the camera, some board plate was blown, err message was on top lcd. I replaced dcdc power board and power regular board at service center. Now the camera works perfectly with nl3e battery. I installed again the grip with nl3e battery and when shoot photo, error message is showen at the top lcd. What is the issue with grip or camera? Please help

Nathanpaw, I totally agree with your logic here. I've never been able to word it that well though haha

@NeonMoron It won't work on your D3000. The grip for the D700/D300 is different than the grip for the D3000 (if it has any). You have to check to see what grip your camera uses.

@rosaramentol I have read the same issue with the original Nikon grip. Phottix is not the problem.

@chris28mm As I have read, there is no electronics out there. So, the issue could be bad contact or bad battery. Actually, Phottix grips have the same problems as original ones. Clean your contacts before you will smash the grip!!! ))))

you dont need a battery grip to shoot 8fps.. you just need to do a bracket burst for your d700..

Guys, how to have more shutter speed with a D700 grip ? is it automatic or there a configuration to do ? i have 5fps i heard that using grip can increase it to 8fps :)
@LorenzoTheFisherman

Yes, you can actually get the 8fps by using 6 x AA batteries or using the EN-EL4a battery if you battery grip support it.

presidents choice is a canadian company, no? They have some great ice cream. good review btw..thanks! Also is the nikon mb-10 grip made of metal or plastic like these? If i was metal I would rather go with that no matter the higher price.. and last, what configuration can one use to get 8FPS? Yes, I know of the mod, but wondering about the grip.

Is there a possibility that Nikon would void your warranty if you run an aftermarket grip, like the one you discribed, on their camera's?????? This is why I always choose to run original Nikon products. The price is higher and so is the quality.
