In this video I test out the new Autocapture feature that was added to the Nikon Z 9 in the Firmware 4.0 release. The Autocapture feature allows you to remotely position your Nikon Z 9 and have it take burst photos or videos once the trigger criteria has been met. You can trigger the camera by motion, subject detection, or distance.
As a quick test of the feature without doing much settings adjustments, I tested the Subject Detection Autocapture feature on my backyard birds. I was surprised to see that even Chippy came to partake in my test, letting me photograph him as he ate.
It takes a little bit of tweaking to get the trigger criteria the way you want it, but I was able to produce excellent results just with a few initial settings adjustment.
Have you used this feature before? Let me know what you think of the latest firmware for the Nikon Z 9.
