Hey guys, how's it going?
I hope you are all well and staying safe!
Today I'm answering a question I've had a ton over the last few weeks/months about the Nikon Z6 for wildlife photography!
I've been using the camera for about a year now, originally only for video, but its been creeping its way into my bag more and more, and now, well it's a staple in the kit!
The new firmware 3.0 really has brought the AF on leaps and bounds in terms of tracking in AF-C, especially in single point and after working with the hares and various other projects over the last few months, I'm confident in it's abilities for wildlife photography. The image quality and feel of the camera are just excellent and for myself as someone who needs to shoot both stills and video, it's made my working kit far simpler, I even sold my D500 as I always want this in the bag alongside my trusty D850 (that still is in my mind the BEST camera all round for stills photography currently).
I'm very much looking forward to the development of the Z series, the new lenses such as the 200-600 and 100-400 look to be great additions and paired with a pro spec mirrorless with any luck ion the next few years. right now however the Z6 is certainly opening up opportunities for my shooting and the investment has been well worth it in my opinion!
