SERIOUS SUGGESTION: I find myself wondering if your Nikon color problem outdoors versus indoors could be caused by the CRI on your lights (color rendition index). I don't think it's as bad as the Fuji Kasey had. That was ROUGH. I have an A7S3 and FX30, hands down the A7S3 is RIDICULOUS for 4k120, not much can touch it. The FX30 is noisier overall I find, but I still love it. Seeing as how I do have the big brother though, when I want 4k120 or even HD 240, I use the A7S3.
@PhillipRPeck
19 күн бұрын
@@snaprifice Yeah, I think the 4K120 from the FX30 can be great. I was just responding to the commenter in the video specifically asking about it as a wildlife kit. Super zooms have slow apertures and you often find yourself shooting in dim environments (forests, etc.) which means you'll be boosting the ISO a lot which isn't a great option for the 4K120 in those cameras
@JojoJoget

Not much can touch the A7S3 and FX3 for clean slowmo video with AF. Slow zooms? The only way you can get a fast tele is a 10k plus prime lens, otherwise vast majority of tele zooms are slow.

I enjoy your channel, but I’m going to go into grumpy old man mode for a moment and criticize… You spend a lot of time addressing the shortcomings of camera features like AF and IBIS. That’s fair, because neither is perfect, especially when you are using them to make up for shortcomings in your chosen methods. I grew up in a photography world without either (without video, too, although what I’m saying applies to video as well as stills). In those days if you wanted photos that weren’t blurry, you had to learn some technique. Using a telephoto or macro lens almost always required a good tripod. Today when I am using a long (VR) lens (on a body with IBIS) to photograph a bird, it would never occur to me to try to hand hold it. I have a sturdy tripod with a Wimberley gimbal (I tried a Chinese knockoff gimbal and it didn’t work), and I’ve learned to use it to follow moving subjects. Smoothly. The VR and IBIS doesn’t jerk because the camera movements are smooth. Technology has come a long way, but it works best when combined with skill. Developing skill, at least for me, adds to the joy of my photography. I know you want a perfect camera that takes care of such things, but maybe it’s a wild goose chase.
@cameraconspiracies
19 күн бұрын
Even Sony didn't jerk around like this Nikon. Panasonic and Olympus have it figured out. And for the most part it's perfectly stable until moving around. Technology is already here to ditch the useless tripod.
@C.I...

Call me mad, but I think we wouldn't need any IBIS at all if manufacturers hadn't gone all-in on rolling shutter chasing the dynamic range dream. It's actually ridiculous to me that the devices we use specifically to capture motion are BAD AT CAPTURING MOTION. I have a 4k video camera with global shutter, and though it's weird and frustrating to use in ways I won't go into here, I have found camera shake literally doesn't matter at all any more, because it looks fine when the entire image moves instead of the everything turning to jelly. Vibration is a normal thing your eyes/brain can compensate for in a video, but jellied mess is not. (Also, I love whip pans and crash zooms and can do them all the time without them looking terrible). Sony have got the idea with the A9 III - we had correct motion in the film era, and it's time it returned. A return to global shutter for video will make all current video cameras, regardless of their bells & whistles, obsolete, and those in the future will wonder why we put up with rolling shutter at all.
@MTBD80

Idk Man, I think the R5II will be a better camera than the Z6III, but that incredible 600mm PF that you have is a lens I have been debating for a while. The 600mm F6.3 PF is going to be WAY better I think than a fixed aperture like mad budget telephoto Canon 600mm F11. I'm sure it's much lighter, and I know you are saving a lot of money in the lens. At the same time, the R5II and being able to better use your Canon glass or future Canon glass may be worth it. Just like you, I have shot pretty much all of the cameras. The R5II is one that I have not, but I suspect it to be a better camera body than the Z6III for almost certain. Best of luck in your journey Kasey.

OK, I will get serious in the comments section of Camera Conspiracies channel (I apologize for my inappropriate behavior) but here we go - I do like buying different camera brands and models to compare. (A bit what Kasey is doing, but not so intensely). I'm convinced, that for video one should not buy Nikon, Olympus or Fuji. The brands that make best cameras for video are Panasonic, Sony and to some extend Canon. (Now, obviously, I do not talk about high-end cinema cameras here). These three brands (Nikon, Oly and Fuji) feel somehow "photography oriented" if that makes sense. Of course, one can record gorgeous video with pretty much any late model camera. The end result is entirely dependent on the skills and effort of the user, not that much on the camera used. That's not the point. My theory is, that with these brands, the way video is implemented - feature, ease of use etc. - feels like an afterthought. And just to add, that I say that as a proud owner of a Nikon system (Z6 II and 4 lenses), so if I was a brainless fanboy I would praise my own brand and choice.

It's not as good as a "Video Checker" as it does not use the same primaries to reference, BUT Davinci Resolve has a panel to correct for it. I have found it somewhat tricky to get working properly, however, when it does, it does really well. I have a Sony A7SIII and FX30, I've been converting from SLog3 to Black Magic Video gamma's and gamut's and I've been pretty happy with the results doing that. Even if I don't color correct using the color chart panel, I still like the results of Black Magic's "look". Something to play with maybe. I will say, I think Fuji, Nikon, and Canon have better color rendering out of the box even if it's not "accurate", it's more pleasing than Sony's to be sure.

okay mr know-it-all here but when you said that with the apsc a6700 you get an equivalent focal length of 166-830mm which is correct, but then you also multiplied the aperture with the crop factor which is not correct. when you add an optical teleconverter it will give a smaller effective aperture, e.g 9 instead of 6.3 with a 1.4x, which affects light gathering and toneh, but while the crop of a smaller sensor n and digital crop will effectively change the focal length, it will not change the toneh and light gathering. the reason you get less toneh on a crop sensor is that you have to back up to fit the same subject in the frame, you have to be further from the subject which makes the relative distance between the subject and the background smaller which means less toneh. however when you film wildlife you almost never fill the frame, especially with birds, so you won’t get any less subject separation with apsc. only in the rare cases where you are close enough to fit the entire bird on a full frame sensor so that with an apsc you have to step backwards or zoom out will you get less toneh separation

Have you tested VR set to 'sport' on the Z6iii? This is supposed to optimise panning shots, especially on those long lenses.

Yes, it makes static shots much less stable.

"Stabilization is very jerky for slow motion street videography." - that's caused by over-compensation. It seems to default to something similar to the "Boost IS" mode of Lumix cameras. The latter produce exactly the same jerky movements. Fortunately, Boost IS can be disabled on Lumixes.

I want to see the R6 III whenever that is released. R6 II is a great camera for its price. No ibis wobble, more video features and better af is my wishlist, besides more lenses obviously hehe. Love my R6 but its showing its age.

Add deeper buffer, upgraded EVF and LCD - from the old R5 parts bin - perhaps the new LP(P) battery extending battery life and 4K 120. Be a great start.

Hi! They say that the perspective on 4/3 is different from full frame. Could you shoot a video on one of your 3D POP lenses, and then attach it to the m4/3 via a speed booster and set the same exposure for false color, will you see the difference in the video?

I really don't see any magic in the Nikon. The best 2 cams you had for wildlife were the GH6 and the Canon R5. You resisted the ZV E-1. Don't resist the R5ii. But maybe it's not your cup of tea. And why not try the ZV E-1 for wildlife too?

Remember that $10,000 was after the incredible Camera Canada discount and on top of that open box price on the lens. Probably like $20,000 normal people money

Would love to see you cover how Fuji destroyed its autofocus in it's top of the line cams with its latest firmware... and refuses to acknowledge there is a problem. A dude named "edvard" on KZitem has some great videos about this issue.

For canon APS-C(even for fullframe) for wildlife.. you really should consider the "Sigma 150-600mm F5-6,3 DG OS HSM".. i know you sh!t on sigma alot and "nO 3d PoPp!!1".. But you really should at least check it out.

Did you just call a plane a bull shit piece of metal ...... really, karma is a bitch, take the train 😂😂😂 IMO the Canon EF 100-400mm is a great versatile lens and very sharp there are a lot of people who really like that lens, you just need more practice, and the RF 100-500mm is a great lens as well, but it's not cheap. Fast prime 400mm, 500mm or 600mm lenses are the better choice but are even more expensive but they are large and heavy, especially if your traveling with them on a plane. The dream lens RF 400mm f2.8❤

When are you going to compare classic Nikon glass to your beloved canon classic glass? And you are already getting bored with one of if not the best 600mm prime lens? Will you weaken and go back to a zoom lens for wildlife? Who knows.
