@@greenwave819Unless I’m missing something, this seems questionable to provide NIL to players. Schools can’t directly pay players in the current system. Collectives currently can pay players but universities can’t just donate profits from the football program to those collectives. Knowing that, how do they plan on getting the money to the players. Even with revenue sharing, there is supposedly a cap on each roster. This is really just allowing Tennessee to pay players without affecting their profit margins. I just don’t realistically see how this “benefits” the players otherwise as they should theoretically receive the same amount in the end.

NIL is NIL in name only. NIL means a player gets to get paid for autographs or an offer from a business to use their name, image, likeness to promote their product or service. The money they are paid is contingent upon the player also not gettimg arrested for illegal activity, suspended, or bad publicity that could damage the product or service. This is how NIL has always worked when using actors, pro sports athletes or any famous person. That is NOT what has happened. Many of us who are older and have business accumem as well as coaches and former coaches and sports commentators tried to warn of what wA going to happen without strict regulation. What has happened is players are getting ourltright bought via collectives aka boosters. That is NOT NIL. Those who thought NIL would bring a more even playing field for universities and colleges with fewer resources are quickly learning that the unregulated not really NIL is only going to bring more disparity than ever before. The U of Texas has by far access to the most money of any college team in the USA. Universities with the most collective aka boosters resources will buy most of the great players and the less wealthy schools will get the leftovers.

Ticket prices are already too high. It’s supposed to be profit sharing not use it as an excuse to charge more.

Vivid seats purchases 100% of non season tickets. This is simply a tax on the scalpers. The cheapest ticket to Alabama vs Tennessee is 335 bucks on their site for nose bleed seats. If you wanna sit close to the feild youre paying 800 plus. Its been this way for years and the game will sell out.

They could just jack the price up and say nothing. As a Tennessee fan that does go to games, I'm not as concerned about this as I am the beer prices. 10% on a $200 ticket is 20 bucks. Its 26 for 2 beers. We'll just have to pregame harder!

I don't think NIL is good. You say it's good because the players deserve the money since the school make money off of them, and they should get a share. BUT, what people don't realize is that the players do make money, it's called a Scholarship. FREE tuition, FREE room, FREE board. THAT IS PAYMENT! How many of you out there would have loved to get a Scholarship (for anything) and your room and food is paid for. I would have loved that.

Stop it. Just stop. It's illegal to tell an adult they cannot make a living, and you're disgusting for trying to keep it that way

I went to the UGA vs SC game last year. 7 tickets...roughly 2,900$. Parking passes for 2 vehicle's, 180.00$. eating twice in Athens on campus...all 7 of us 250.00$. A few beers and snacks in the stadium probably 100.00$. Crazy numbers. This didnt include my travel from VA to GA. And it was probably the worst game ive been to at that. The fans were terrible. No excitement. Not loud. The game was very lackluster. I wont be going back anytime soon again sadly. If i do, it'll just be me and the wife. I would dare to say that at least 500$ of these totals were just fees from ordering the tickets to the game and parking. 😊
