I was so honored in 2014 to have this amazing soul endorsed my ultralight backpacking book, of which I will not put the title here to avoid inappropriateness. I met someone much like Nomad in upper Yosemite last year--same age. What an inspiration. He still backpacked with his father's Kelty pack from the mid '60s, though it was falling apart in places. Thank you again, Mr. Nomad, and to the few true shepherds of this continent's amazing wilderness. - Be well, Tim Gnazale

An amazing man an example of a determination and skill. A gracious, kind and talented man. Such a pleasure to meet him at Flagg Mountain at the Pinhoti Trail in Alabama recently.

the man lives the life we'd all like to live. Living on the trail and visiting society. It is so true what he says about long distance hiking being primarily a mental exercise.

GenghisKhan22, he was a doctor for about 30 years, then retired and started long distance hiking. I highly recommend his book "Ten Million Steps."

Wow, now there's a man at peace. What an inspiration. Does anyone know if he has any books about his adventures? He must have some great wildlife stories.

this poem can be read on nimblewill nomad's website. just do a search on his trail name and the poem easy to find on his website. It is called "Land of the Free". Lots of other fantastic hiker reading to be found there too!
