I did this setup with APT and three cameras on three 4" APO refractors. One mount, a Tak NJP. The setup was a beast so I had to dial it back to 2 telescopes. I now have an AP1200GTO and Im back to two telescopes and now using NINA which is much better and more refined. These videos really help! Thank you!

Please create an updated video about this topic. I can't find any information on how to do synchronized autofocus in advanced sequencer.

Hi everyone ! this video is an excellent source of information but I have a question that probably any of you can answer. This Synchronized Dithering is something already deployed in the N.I.N.A V2.0? that would be awesome ! Thank you for produce this videos and keep doing it ! Congratulations!

Somehow I missed this but I’m going to guess you might’ve already gotten an answer. In the latest version of Nina this is accomplished via a plug-in.

After 2 years ans some versions of NINA: Are there any major changes? Do you use the advanced sequencer with a 2 cameras+2xNINA setup? And what's about an outo meridian-flip? Does it work? If you would find time to do an update video, I really would like it. This video here was very good. I like your clear and straight forwad style of explaning! Deep enough into the topic without using to many words or spending to much time; perfectly balanced!

I enjoyed the very informative video. I'd like to see a video running Synchronized Dithering and Dual Imaging in the nightly builds version. The Synch plugin is very confusing.

Great videos. Very clear BUT: Using synchronised dithering on SBS setup with 3 scopes. Works really well. Different exposure and dither times but all works as common factors. However had problems with Meridian flip. Main scope connected to mount pauses and resumes OK but other synchronised scopes ignore flip and carry on exposing. When main restarts it’s a mess. What is the recommended approach. Could set up two separate jobs. Pre and post flip using wait for meridian, but is there a better way. If so can you make a video with synch dither & flip

Thanks for the tutorial. I wonder, when running two setups with the synchroniced wait. Can I stop one setup earlier? See when there is a meridian flip, the second rig is pointing in the wrong region of the sky, so in case I dont want to readjust everything i would just stop taking pictures with that. but that also means, that any synchronize command on the main rig would wait forever for a synch as the second rig is out of the routine already. no? A workaround would maybe be that the meridian flip is a trigger to stop both routines and then only the main righ starts another imaging routine.

Hi! Could you maybe make a video where you explain the new Synchronized Dither Plugin in more detail, especially how to set it up correctly with PHD2 and how to correctly create and start a sequence for both cameras? That would be great! :-)

It's on the short list. I just re-mounted my dual setup. :)

Thanks for this video, I just got the dithering set up and it works great. I've noticed another little utility called synchronized wait which seems to be able to help with the start/stop syncs between the different scopes. Any idea how that works? I thought I had it working by adding it right after autofocus on the leader, then also adding it on the follower. it works great for that but at the end of a sequence before moving on to the next target, I want it to make sure that the follower has finished before slewing, and the follower waiting until slew and AF has finished before starting. It doesn't like it presumably because the follower is now the leader and doesn't move forward at all. Any ideas on how to fix this?

This is brilliant thanks, gives me a great start to understanding what I need to look at if I go down the route of a parallel setup (which I likely will do), but one question is how does this setup handle when one scope wants to do an autofocus as some point during the night, do they just wait for each other to finish?

Just a heads up on this. It has changed a little since NINA2.0 was introduced. The problem with going from v1->v2 was the new Advanced Sequencer and how this capability would interact in that framework. Well, Isbeorn worked it out but had to move the Synchronized Dither capability to a plugin you must install from the Available Plugins page in the application. There are some instructions on this plugin page to get you started. I hope to update the video soon, it is on the list. About your question though, the synchronization is more about the dither and imaging instructions. Basically, when 1 system issues a dither to the "Server instance" it will wait/pause until the second dither request comes in, and then it will issue the dither and both will proceed. If one of the systems needs an AF, it will perform that as it normally would. This means that the other system waiting for the 2nd dither to come in would just have to wait/pause longer until that occurred. Hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for this interesting video. I'm a new an enthusiastic user of3.1 NINA, but I hacve a problem that I cannot solve, after meridian flip, PHD2 do not invert the guide and the mount goes towards east instead of west... in my configuration, I'm using PHD2 and ASi120 connected direct throug the cable to the EQ6-R mount, controlled by GS Server Do you have any suggestion? Thanks a lot again Roberto

I tried this with the current version of NINA, not the nightly build. Had the synchronization plug in installed and it shows in both instances. PHD2 server is enabled. However, where you have the drop down menu in the equipment section for connecting your guider there is no option for synchronized PHD2. It just has the normal PHD2 option. Please help!

Superb video! Im in the way to do the same thing, the only thing that i am struggling is to find my cameras in ascom diagnostic,to rename them. I dont see them but i see my mount. I use the zwo driver maybe is the issue??
@PatriotAstro

If you are using the native driver, that may be the issue. You would need to use the ASCOM driver instead for this to work. There may be a way to do this in the windows registry... but be careful poking around in there. :)

Brilliant… But it seems that your guiding star’s profile shows a saturation plateau, which is not good to get the lowest rms. Am I wrong?

Correct. This was pieced together pretty quickly during a very short window of clear skies so I didn’t have a chance to clean up the actual guiding. Good catch.

Is it possible to run 3 or 4 cameras in Nina through PhD synchronized setup?
@PatriotAstro
3 жыл бұрын
@@billblanshan3021 I have only run the two but my understanding is that you can run more without issue. More of a CPU processing thing as it relates to running multiple Nina instances simultaneously, and a USB bus issue as it relates to downloading images. Eventually you’ll hit a wall, but it should be very doable.
