OMG I played this when I was like 6 years old I didn't remember this game existed, completely disappeared from my mind until this moment , I saw the thumbnail and immediately remembered everything

NES version more sluggish than arcade, there's a slight delay when you push the jump button. Nice upload btw ❤

I never knew that most of the simple NES games I played like this had an arcade version and they're are much better looking.

what's the difference between the original and the arcade one?

@@theBeT95 I believe the arcade is the original one and much better. The NES version is pretty much a simplified version of the game.

@@theBeT95 Framerate, most notably. The Famicom port is awfully choppy.

The Famicom port is choppy and the main theme is just a full-on sensory abuse

@@theBeT95 The NES (or Famicom) version has less space for memory than the arcade, so it’s simplified and cheap. Hudson’s PC Engine and Nintendo’s Super Famicom made video games better in graphics and functions.

This was "my game" back in the old arcade days, probably 1984-5 or so. I had the high score for our arcade, and could play for like 30 minutes + on one quarter (possibly longer, I don't remember exactly). I believe you got a bonus if you didn't waste a star when completing a level. (watching this replay is giving me fits, watching him waste stars). One other thing I remember is that as good as I was at this, the next game over was Tapper, and there was some kid who could play that indefinitely. Would love to find an actual version of this at one of the nostalgia arcades they have these days...

I remember playing the nes version of this game as a kid but it was on a bootleg n64 controller plug n play that had many nes games built in

Nice to see that many are familiar with the nes and can see the difference. Like them I agree how bad the famicom version was but neverthe less I am grateful to the famicom I was able to play this game

No, it’s the original arcade version. The Famicom version is a port.

Now why didn't UPL use that chibi ninja as it's mascot? 🙂
