Made this today in the Speedi! Turned out perfect. I only had a 2-1/2 lb roast, so checked it at the 12 minutes left mark and was done. Made some gravy with the leftover juices on the sauté function. Excellent recipe. Thank you!

I made this tonight/ I didn’t have beef stock, so I used chicken. (No big deal) and I threw in a slow cooker McCormick packet, and mushrooms and onions too. I accidentally took it out at 160* let it sit for 5 mins and it it’s awesome!!!!! I wish there was more gravy, and it could be a tiny bit more tender. I’m guessing maybe the mushrooms & taters soaked it up? Next time I’ll add some more stock/water and make a little gravy with the leftover liquid. But still 8/10!!! It’d be 10/10 if I cooked it longer and it was more tender.

Hi James, just commented however I have a question. If you happen to see this tonight, I need help. I'm cooking my roast & followed you instructions to a T. I even stop my Speedi & started again. Anyway, my problem is the clock never started & its been cooking for like 40 mins now. If you could tell me what my problem is I'd greatly appreciate it. If any of you fellow Cooking with James followers know what my problem us then please reach out. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello again James...I made this last night in my Speedi, following along with your guidance, and it was again, like the burgers on the bottom and fries on top, absolutely OUTSTANDING! The only difference was that I didn't pay attention to the size of the roast that you had the first time I watched the video 🙄, not realizing that you were able to fit a 3-pound one if the Speedi...when I was in the store, I thought I would need a small one, so I bought a 1.5 pound..so I just checked it sooner, and mine was done in 35 minutes! once again, thanks for all that you share with us 😎

I did a cross rib roast,followed your instructions,roast came out tough,everything else was good,just wondering why?
@CookinWithJames
Жыл бұрын
The cross rib would have to be cooked longer in the liquid to be broken down fully. I would suggest using the sear and sauté function on high and closing the lid for atleast an hour. Make sure meat is fully covered in liquid. Then feel for tenderness.
