I blame GameXplain. They work with Nintendo, and most fan-projects they report on COINCIDENTALLY get taken down or strike'd.

Even if Nintendo releases a 3D maker next year it's unjustified to strike considering Rovert did it first so if anything they should be paying him royalties Also, a cheap method for noise cancelling is to put 2 pillows next to the mic

I genuinely was of the opinion (probably alone) that Super Mario Maker 2 should have just been Super Mario Maker Deluxe, and 3D Mario maker should have just been 2 itself. You did a wonderful job and really sold that the idea is probable, but personally I've seen it as an absolute possibility since Mario Maker 2 dropped, so I really hope you're right lol.

Nintendo constantly making one step forward and then two steps back urgh... And yeah, Super Mario Maker 3 D has to be a thing. The next huge step for Mario Maker to justify an entirely new game would be adding 3D. We also know that Nintendo loves their puns, and since Mario Maker 3 is next, the pun potential of calling it Super Mario Maker 3 D is way too obvious for them to pass up on it.

@@Oceane1803 I mean Nintendo makes some good games, and that's where their redeeming qualities end. Their business strategies are archaic and outdated, Their consoles have always been underpowered and a bit mediocre albeit sometimes having cool gimmicks, and I'm convinced their legal team is from both the wrath and pride rings of hell.
@Oceane1803

@@megaman37456 Also what I'm saying. The good games are the one step forward. But since there's the two steps back of the way they treat their fans, well they're still going backwards in the end.

i wouldnt have thought of a possible mario maker 3D being the reason for the takedowns lol, i was thinking its likely a combination of extreme copyright protection and wanting to scare you into not continuing the project. very interesting hypothesis
@megaman37456

So just curious, if Nintendo hits you with a DMCA, will you actually take down the hack/stop working on it? From what I've looked into, if you live in a location that has fair use laws, a DMCA on a fan game or rom hack holds no water so long as it remains unmonetized, it's merely an intimidation tactic.
@LeonAlkoholik67

2:43 That's what I also thought at first, but then again, Nintendo's lawyers might just be evil and may just want to cause harm
@GarrettSmith-kk7dh

I’m no legal expert but I can tell you that Nintendo will send you a COA eventually. But here’s the reason why you got DMCA striked. Do you own the game yes, but do you own the rights to Super Mario Maker or SM64, no. And besides Nintendo has been taking down these games since the late 80’s actually with the first one being a custom game cartridge that hacked SMB1. So Nintendo has a long history of striking down people. Rovert the good news is that you’re a lucky guy, I’ve seen some people’s channels got taken down by Nintendo themselves. Best of luck Rovert.

I get your point with your idea, but you have to note that Nintendo has been striking SM64 videos for 10 years. They strike all kinds of SM64 remakes. Sure, you have more than a mod and thats I think why it got striked faster. I would be too good to be true.

Nintendo be like: This man made a better Mario Maker than we ever could... SEIZE HIM! This is one aspect I don't understand from Nintendo. Why don't they appreciate the love and hard work their fans put into fan projects like this?! And I mean... SM64 is a 28 years old game... as if they still make money with it... Why can't they be like Sony? Sony at least appreciates fan made content and even supports them sometimes.

Never mind stuff related to the DMCA, that garbage is so old and outdated that nobody knows what is or isn't legal anymore in regards to stuff like console modding, game dumping, emulation. Why can't everyone just collectively agree on laws that are fair and make sense?

You could take your ideas and make a new game using Godot. Sm64 builder is a great idea for a platformer. Maybe after 5 or 10 years you could open source it. New assets and music of course. I understand it would be a huge amount of work.

Japanese copyright law is pretty strict, and technically they have ever right, but Still, the creativity you've shown is undeniable!... you sould make a account on platform Odyssey which is a clone like replica of KZitem based encrypto, and it s very loose about the rules... I also completely Agree with Nintendo shooting in themselves in the foot statement😅
