John Elliott is an author and foreign correspondent, initially with the Financial Times. A new updated edition of his prize-winning book, IMPLOSION: India’s Tryst with Reality, reviewing the Narendra Modi years, has been published. He writes a blog on South Asia current affairs called ‘Riding the Elephant’ that also appears on the website of Asia Sentinel (Hong Kong). Abhinandan Sekhri is co-founder of Newslaundry, which has won several awards for its journalism including the Ramnath Goenka and RedInk Award. He is also co-founder of Small Screen, makers of award-winning shows like Highway On My Plate and OMG India. He worked for TV Today Network from 1995 to 1999 that made Newstrack and Aaj Tak and was the chief scriptwriter for news-satire show Gustaakhi Maaf and The Great Indian Tamsha on NDTV.
Rajeev Punnoli Irupattil is a veteran investigative journalist and editor who has held senior positions with Indian Express, Times of India, India Today and The Hindu. He currently serves as the Executive Editor of The Mathrubhumi. Punnoli has reported from across India and internationally.

An annual event that goes beyond literature, the Festival has also hosted Amartya Sen, Amitabh Bachchan, the late A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Oprah Winfrey, Stephen Fry, Thomas Piketty and former president of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai.
