Thanks, after having my frontier for 15 years it's great to see this finally being done. Love this old truck, it is a real jem. I have the KN set up on mine and can vouch for it. I read a lot of the forum and you tube know it alls talking about what a horrible filter the kn is. How bad it sucks at not stopping dirt. I just tore my engine down at 196000 miles to replace valve seals and fix other leaks. I was astonished that there was absolutely no wear on the valve stems, cylinder bores or valve buckets. Most of those miles were driven in the gulf coast area, lot of silica sand and other abrasives . The kn works perfectly fine when serviced properly .

Subbing for frontier content! As far as videos go, maybe if you guys could do a ims spacer and exhaust and verify power increase on the dyno. Then get an uprev tune and see what you can get from all that. Doing a dyno run after every mod I feel is very important to the frontier community, because it is hard to just trust the word of the company trying to sell upgrades to us. Having a third party testing these things out is very valuable to me, it makes it easier to buy the mod.

You guys have a great, straight forward comparison. I saw this one from the exhaust one you did in 2021. I have a 2015 Pro4X thats bone stock i just bought this week, with 50k miles. Still a baby! That brings me to the next question, what wheels are those on the black Xterra on your main website? I LOVE those wheels! I think another thing thats important for intake systems, is the charge air temps. I would think that should be included in your testing since showing charge temps would help show how well a specific intake system protects the air coming in. Open air boxes sound cool, but almost always allow debri, water, and heat to enter the intake which kills power.

@@NKaumans I've had my Frontier since May 2005. Some good things for it that do work are the intake manifold spacer, aluminum underdrive crank pulley, a piggyback tuner to bump timing , and a high flow 2 into one exhaust to get rid of the y pipe. . Don't go more than 2.5" piping or it will not fall out of a tree. Also make it a priority to run a catch can, and get rid of the silica filled primary cats. The catch can and those cats are two things that can save your engine. All the mods I listed add power and economy both to the truck, without hurting low-end one bit.

@z1off-road

Yes, though a little quieter the volant is built very well, performs pretty good and offers great filtration with options on filter type. Inspection window is a plus but it's not quite water tight. When run on trucks that still have wheel well liners the typical service interval is wider than that of open element filters and the cold air sourced through the fender is better for performance. If you did want to attach a snorkel you can which you cannot do with an open element style.

I just bought a 2017 Frontier Pro 4X 6M KK...but I'm getting like 5km/l which is horrible mileage...any thoughts? Loved the vids about exhaust n cold intake mods...but I don't have an extra 4-5k to add these...

Anyone have trouble passing CA smog with the Nismo intake? I know it’s C.A.R.B legal but was wondering about other peoples experience. I have a 2018 Frontier, so not sure if the CARB exemption sticker will work for my truck.

I’m new to this, so forgive my ignorance, but do the results of this test mean the Volant would be the best choice for someone looking to get the most improvement in HP out of a stock, untuned truck? And would there be an improvement on efficiency/mpg along with that?

Sorry for the question but I am new to nissan Frontier, just pick up an on 6 with 37k Miles, 1 owner "My Oldest Uncle" My question is, what's the point of this upgrade is it more horsepower? Better Sound? Also How do i get this trucked tuned? Thanks for your reply to these Newbie Questions.

Both really with the right parts. For some too much noise is less than ideal so something with the most gains but minimal noise increase may be ideal so we hope the video helps our users make the most informed decisions. When you drive a stock frontier compared to one with a good intake, exhaust and a tune it’s a night and day difference.

Great inf. What's your take as to why there is some engine issues after the intake is installed?

@@felipemontoya3263 Z1 is in Carrollton GA, I may have spelled Carrollton wrong. It’s just west of Atlanta. Awesome guys & gals, I’m an old customer of theirs for many years from when I had 4 vintage Z32’s at one time, + later model G35 Infinity coupe. Went to several of their group get together / party / race weekends and they are all very awesome group. I have an Xterra now and will be using them as always when needed. :edit-spelling
