i've been riding motorcycles for over 40 years, and in my (lengthy - meaning old, lol) experience, lane splitting is actually safer for 2 wheelers when practiced responsibly: it gets you out of the cage parade so you don't have to deal with the oblivious cage pilots who are not paying attention! everytime i get on my bike someone tries to kill me - usually within a mile of my house. i don't even bother getting pissed off anymore. split the lane, get out in front AND STAY THERE!

This is really interesting, even on the more powerful of the 3 modes and avoiding dropping below 15%, this still can travel 85km with a decent speed. This would be more than enough for most cities, which is where scooters are designed to be. Not the cheapest scooter to buy, but would be really cheap to run. I know it's a baragain(gov subsidy to promote e-commerce) but setting aside the price, will I be able to get home that is on top of a steep hill (as steep as the brick rode in your video) with quarter of battery left?

The batteries have a minimum life of 5 years, and they are under warranty for 2 years. However, that does not mean that after 5 years, the batteries die, they simply lose their ability to charge to 100%. You might only be able to charge to 90% after 5 years, for example. They are nice but be mindful of a few issues. Front forks bend and leak easy. Brake lever has a sensor that cuts throttle. When that has a malfunction it can lead to unsafe surging of power that can be really hazardous on slick roads or in corners. Last major one is sometimes when you take the bat out and it it back in the computer will bug. That really sucks when in a hurry and ya gotta pull the battery and use the wall charger to reset. The true last issue is common to a lot of rides, stock tires are hard and do have traction issues.
