I just bought my copy of the NKJV Maclarin series you show here and I love it, such a beautiful bible.

I'm always that guy that will say "I'd still prefer a Schuyler" but wow, that Mclaren is incredible! Phenomenal value. Thank you for this

I recently purchased the nkjv Maclaren. Had it for a couple weeks now. Your absolutely right. I love everything about this bible and it’s incredible for the price. It’s been my go to bible now. Over my Cambridge topaz & goatskin LSB. Great job Tim with the comparison.

I like that the textual footnotes have the chapter:verse paired with them, compared to the quentel that only has the superscript number. I know that's incredibly nitpicky, but it's not uncommon when I'm studying that I like to find the textual note at the bottom of the page first, then look into the text to find and read the verse.

Thomas Nelson definitely has the best value overall when compared to the rest of the market. It's nice to see this pointed out!

I personally think the Schuyler is better because of the margin space. Honestly, they know they know their target! For 200 bucks, do you think customers are gonna accept the text sneaking into the gutter like that? However, I’ve got to say that the blue accents of the Maclaren are extremely gorgeous!! I Blue is such a peaceful color.

Humble Lamb is my favorite premium.. sooo stylish. I'm glad you featured them. But TN are making some SOLID user-friendly Bibles.

Ooh, is that the Loreto Publications Haydock I see out of the corner of my eye? Glad to see you got it. Sorry I was a bit late in noticing it tucked away there. Looking forward to you looking over that one. I have an original Haydock from the 1800s, so it'll be interesting to compare.

Tim- Thanks so much for your honesty!!!!! Do you think that Moody will ever release the Ryrie Study Bible in a higher end NKJV option? Hope so!

I’m not sure. I’ve never worked with them. Maybe I could ask them.

Impressive how the TN is able to be slimmer with 36 gsm paper. How did they manage to pull that off? Tighter margins, line spacing, word spacing? Definitely amazing value. Too bad I'm not much of an NKJV guy

Yes. They have cheaper options too.

lol Tim you love controversy 😁These comparison videos are great. I'm not buying another Schuyler, I can't stand the paper. I've got a Sovereign and this one that you told us about, that will cover me for double column NKJV. Plus I just LOVE the blue text and accents. Schyuler leather will be better but the TN you don't have to worry about beating it up a bit and ruining a $200+ Bible.

Which has better quality paper for long term use, nelson nkjv premier thinline black letter or nelson maclaren thinking? And Which has more space in the inside margin/gutter? Thank you and your input would be greatly appreciated!
@anickelsworthbiblereviews

Both have essentially the same paper. It’s the exact same layout so the gutter space is the same.

The Premier thinline hurt my eyes. The text was just too crowded for me. The line spacing is much better in the Quentel imo.
@anickelsworthbiblereviews

I don’t see an issue with crowding, but the Quentel does have slightly more leading space.

Thomas Nelson achieves that great price by printing in China. That's a deal breaker for me.

@@anickelsworthbiblereviews I am looking for a premium Bible either in the ESV, NASB or perhaps NKJV. Does Nelson have one not printed in China? My personal size NKJV from 1985 was printed in the USA, but I'm wanting something in a 10 or 11 point font, so a Quentel-sized block. Any Nelson suggestions?

The problem is the gutter on the maclaren. I hate how the text goes in the crack.

I don’t really see that issue.

I'm probably being too picky, I just wish they would make some of these Bibles a hair wider. The right ratio of dead space really matters to me. Not too much, not too little.

What does Quentel mean?
@anickelsworthbiblereviews

It’s just a name for the Bible that Schuyler publishes in multiple translations.
@BibleBuyingGuide

It's named for Peter Quentel, the publisher the first copies of Tyndale’s New Testament in Cologne Germany in 1525
