I would say for this house would be around the £15.00 mark.

Totally agree with gocardless we’ve still got a lot of cash collections which I hate. .. we’ve got about 230 customers who pay by direct debit... all new customers have to sign up to direct debit via gocardless we give customer letter explaining our payment method the we don’t do cash collections and we don’t chase payment all payments must be made via direct debit but we will except cash on the first clean only. .... love it.

Great info and something i will implement in the future, as I'm starting out and use BACS and cash, what do you do when a customer chooses 8 weekly as your welcome pack form says every 4 weeks? can you change the direct debit on gocardless

Hi John and welcome to this line of work! On GoCardless a direct debit is something you would set up to debit their account. Therefore you can do it manually once you have cleaned the property. Which is what I do in the evening or you can set it up with your organiser like the squeegee app for instance. Hope that helps

@UCYyaC2%F0%9F%91%8DaI5wEhTorrkYugQag Ok, I see. thanks :) so you have control over how much and when. I like the welcome pack idea also, sometimes when I let the customer know it's a regular thing that might get forgotten, so good to have that down in writing for them I will check out more of your content. 👍

Like i said we still do cash collections... this one customer who I’ve personally clean since the year 2000 .....19 years first trad then wfp I asked this customer about paying direct debit cos we are in the process of phasing out all cash collections.... this customer got on the fence and turned around and told me that I’m just window cleaner I got the impression that she thinks she’s so much better. This customer drives bin wagon for living good honest living...... I’m just window cleaner that started out on my own doing trad of ladders since 16 now 37 now have 2 vans 3 lads and planning on putting another van on the road over the next 6 month and so on so on ............ but I’m just the little window cleaning who’s not worth the time and effort for her to sign up-to direct debit

I know. I have a great rapport with all my customers but im not under any disallusion that they view me simply as their window cleaner and not a friend and in a blink of an eye that can change. But then thats ok and they dont need to know how much we earn

Hi just a quick question so when you quote a new customer do you give them the option to include the conservatory?
@nathankaye9594

I do. I give them a price for the house and a price including the conny
@uniteallaction

So do they ever opt to have it cleaned separately every 8 weeks, and their windows cleaned every 4?
@nathankaye9594

@@uniteallaction only on larger house do I allow that. For instance, I clean a large house every 4 weeks at £30 per clean and they have a huge conservatory which is £20. £50 every 8 wks is more ideal for their budget than every 4 weeks. Then, on the other hand, I have customers which opt only for their house to be cleaned and periodically they will ask for the conservatory windows to be cleaned. This would be a first clean charge when they do. Hope that helps

Why do you work in the rain
@nathankaye9594
Жыл бұрын
It rains a lot and if you didnt work in the rain, well you would be having many days off and that really messes with a routine. Rain water itself is practically pure water, and I clean with pure water. The results are that ive cleaned off any residue that has built up, so that the falling rain water doesnt disperse that and leave the windows dirty as in the case of traditional window cleaning. Working with pure water means you can work in the rain (although if its persistent heavy rain, i wont) and allows me to take the days off when I want to...
