Thank you, Barry Zito, for Game 5. It was because of you that the series shifted back to San Francisco. It was because of you that our season didn't end that day. It was because of this performance that you started Game 1 of the World Series. I can never thank you enough. With my birthday the next day, this was one of the best birthday present I could've ever asked for.

Hi Denis. If you get the blu ray box set for 2012, this game is included. With alternate audio :) Listening to Miller and Flemm, Kruk & Kuip is soooo good :) Also...the Cardinals KMOX audio is available, lol. I got drunk and decided to listen to the Cardinals audio while watching this Game 5 :) Cards color man Mike Shannon announced the lineups, and when he got to Barry Zito... "And pitching for the Giants tonight is fireballer Barrrry Zittttooo..heh hehh. It should be a banner day for red bird fans!" Uhh..no, bro. Throughout the game, the Cards announcers couldn't believe it :) It is...awesome :)

I just love how confidently they predicted the Cardinals would go on to the World Series, even before Game 1 of the NLCS. I would have loved to be in that studio taking bets. I know the GIants are from the West Coast, but really, you shouldn't have written them off so quickly.

Through all the ups (and especially downs) Barry Zito made sure to make 2012 his year where he was HIM. And the 2012 NLCS Made it clear that Zito was ready for this moment, and his teammates were there to make sure this game counted. What a masterpiece of a story

The best thing about this game is how geeked up that St. Louis crowd was and how they slowly realized that this was not their night. You could feel it through the screen.

When Zito had 2nd/3rd on, no outs, I thought that was it, the Giants are going to be eliminated. Zito had never had a bunt RBI single in his entire career. That bunt single is one of the most amazing plays I've ever seen, just a dagger

It's been 7 years since this EPIC game. Mr. Zito was the Phoenix who rose from the ashes to pitch a game that goes down in Giants history. It puts him up there with greats like Christy Mathewson, Marichal, Gaylord Perry, etc.

1:14:20, I can't figure out for the life of me why the color commentator Tim McCarver thought there was a mix up between the SS and 2B. When Pence hit the grounder, the ball was headed towards the second baseman to Descalso, so he was going to field the grounder if Lynn didn't get it, which forces Kozma to cover second base. I don't know what McCarver was looking at on that play.

Agreed. However, Game 3 of the NLDS vs. the Reds, down 2-0 in a best of 5......THAT commenced the greatest postseason run in Giants history imo. Down 2-0 facing the best home team in baseball in THEIR ballpark , down 3-1 against DEFENDING CHAMPS, then sweeping the heavily favorited Detroit Tigers.....never forget.

Cardinals had runners at 2nd and 3rd with no one out in the 2nd inning and couldnt score. That was the turnaround. THe Cardinals went on to score a total of 1 run games 5, 6 and 7 thats why they couldnt win it.

When you have runners at 2nd and 3rd with no one out and you cant score well that sets the tone for a bad sign which is why the Cardinals could never score in this game. In fact they scored a total of 1 run in games 5, 6, and 7.
