I did this for almost two years once! I of course had to buy things but, no eating out or very very rarely, I colored my own hair, never got my nails done, didn't buy any new clothes, no movies, I canceled my cable and pretty much changed how I spend money and look at my long term finances with new eyes! This was about eight years ago and I paid off every single dime of debt and have now return to a more balanced way of living. I do buy things with more thought, I do not browse or feel like I need retail therapy like I used to. I am going even further by minimizing my home and other belongings. It feels great! I think I may do a no buy next month and thank you for putting this out there. All of the obsession with beauty products is killing the long term finances of young women! I love beauty related items but I am in a place to afford them but some people are not and its nice to see a beauty guru spreading some common sense!

Congratulations on sticking with it. My biggest downfall with purchases is books and stationery! But this year I am travelling around the country house sitting, and basically living out of whatever can fit in my car. So I've cut down greatly on shopping, because it just won't fit. I've found it really liberating. I still window shop, and plan what I will buy when I do finally settle down again into my own place, but I'm really enjoying watching my bank balance pretty much staying the same, and even going up a bit :)

You have a perfect mouth! I failed at No-Buy Feb mostly because I have a wedding to go to in another state and wasn't prepared. But I have to say I was much more thoughtful about buying and definitely passed over what I would have purchased. I will try when you do it again and this time look ahead (like the birthday gift.) Thanks, Sanni

I think I’m doing well with my no buy commitment. The only purchase I did make was facial sunscreen (a must have), and Vit C serum, (Timeless $25.00). Going on 4 months since I purchased makeup. I must say I covet a product when I see it used in a vid, but it is so easy now not to follow through and purchase. Can’t wait for the bold lip tutorial!

Well Sanni, I did buy 2 new queen size beds for the house because they were badly needed and I had the money put away for them. I did cheat and bought a loreal shine lipstick for $9.99 but I have not gone into Sephora to buy a thing, i am a Rouge member so I feel that I exercised great control. I definitely will be more thoughtful in my beauty purchases and try not to replicate products that I already have in multiples.

A lot of unnecessary browsing for me too. Best thing is to just not even go in.

Congratulations on getting through the month! I'd love to do that but maybe tweak it to no shopping outside of necessary home decor/items because I'm about to move into my new tiny house!

Sanni so pretty, and well done you for Feb. I wonder what you think of Derma planing, do you do it on your face, if so what do you use? x

I think that’s what get most of us is the unnessassary browsing. I’ve cut that down a lot and notice a huge difference
