I lost my mom last year (4/22/22) and this was her favorite band. I remember her blasting No Doubt albums though the house when she was cleaning or cooking and singing along. Every time I hear this song I can see a memory of her giving me smile and hearing her singing. You are truly missed Mom, I can’t wait to see you again. ~Christel Lee Helen Severns~ ~10/1/1971 - 4/22/22~

2 of my favorite things about this song: 1) didn’t realize she was actually vocalizing the beat when she sings “you sure have changed since yesterday.” it blends in so seamlessly. so talented 2) at 3:10 when she says “and now you’re looking like I used to” and tony is at her feet cleaning up the spaghetti sauce. i think she’s referencing how in love she was with him. she used to be at his feet because she wanted to keep him. idk if that makes sense

People were simple, honest, happy and straight to your face back then unlike the new age, depressed social media hypocrite, back stabbing generation of today. If you lived in the 90s, you would be able to easily and directly notice the differences between 90s people and todays mentally sick two timing people.

Things certainly weren't perfect in the '90s but, yes, much much simpler - and we had no idea what insanity and trauma was in store for the next 20+ yrs. I've been slowly coming out of that place that severe illness and disability - and eventual addiction - took me. It is possible to get out, by finding things that work for you, but I know it's hard to keep any shred of hope and not just give up. Keep breathing, homey! I love this band so much. First Gwen has such a great voice especially for this genre and her style. She was meant to be an icon. Another thibg that always reminds me of ND are those bass lines. As a bassist I've always been impressed with Tony's skills and lines. Damn, such a great band 😍

@@easkels Madness were not inspired by The Specials. Madness were formed a year before The Specials. Both bands were inspired by the original ska of the 1960s, which in turn inspired reggae. The Specials and Madness were part of the ska revival, colloquially known as "Two Tone Ska" after the record label formed by Jerry Dammers of The Specials, alongside bands such as The Selector, The Beat and Bad Manners.

Lyrics: Sappy pathetic little me That was the girl I used to be You had me on my knees I'd trade you places any day I'd never thought you could be that way But you looked like me on Sunday You came in with the breeze On Sunday morning You sure have changed since yesterday Without any warning I thought I knew you I thought I knew you I thought I knew you well, so well You're trying my shoes on for a change They look so good but fit so strange Out of fashion, so I can complain You came in with the breeze On Sunday morning You sure have changed since yesterday Without any warning I thought I knew you I thought I knew you I thought I knew you well, so well I know who I am, but who are you? You're not looking like you used to You're on the other side of the mirror So nothing's looking quite as clear Thank you for turning on the lights Thank you, now you're the parasite I didn't think you had it in you And now you're looking like I used to! You came in with the breeze On Sunday morning You sure have changed since yesterday Without any warning And you want me badly Because you cannot have me I thought I knew you But I've got a new view I thought I knew you well, oh well On Sunday morning And I don't want it Sunday morning I thought I knew you Sunday morning Oh you want me badly Can have it Sunday morning Sunday morning Sunday morning

I remember those days, the way the sun would warm your face as you stared out the window with your eyes closed, cruising down the road with your friends. When everything was just around the corner and all those opportunities were in front of you. Snapshots of moments in time where you shared space with someone special and the sound from the speakers cemented those memories. Where the worst thing that could happen was getting over a hangover on Sunday morning around a table with your friends.
