Absolute legend, Resurrection is one of my all time favorite albums. Him and Common really put Chicago on the map for hip hop and we gotta thank him for teaching Kanye a lot about how to produce. It’s cool that Kanye still gives him credit for being the one that helped him get to where he’s at now.

"I like studying people from afar more than, uh...the relationships get a little bright. Like the sun in your eyes..." That parallel shows how humble he is and I can relate to it. I went to school with Kanye for a year, when he graduated 8th grade at Vanderpoel. I never met him personally but I remember that brother's shine, just passing by in the hallway, lbs. I get that statement.

Standing too close, ala relationships, can definitely skew your perception of a person. I don't get the "yes man" vibe from him at all. Love hearing a veteran still talking about self improvement via studying instead self proclamations and titles.

When he said give the kids what they want sorta like pimpin, my mind went straight to Dave Chappelle's Bird Revelation Iceberg Slim Pimp Story. Give the kids what they want so you can exploit them. It hit me. They both are breaking the cycle of exploitation we all buy into to. This video deserves a Peabody award. Thank you. Thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart Thank you.
