Last summer I was fishing a clear water lake here in central Alabama. I saw a snake just like you saw in the introduction, but it was crossing a very large creek. When the snake finally got near my boat, I was amazed to see 3 big 3 pound plus spotted bass following it! I hear the swimbait guys talk about big bass just following swimbaits. I guess bass follow snakes also. If you see a water snake, toss your jig a couple feet behind it.

That's crazy. I remember Doug Hannon used to sale a snake lure so maybe he was onto something.

Black and blue jigs don't seem to be very effective here in WV but green pumpkin/orange works well. Thanks for the video !!

Sounds like you've found the right color to snatch em up on a jig. Funny how certain colors play in certain areas.
