I really hope the Flames draft Iggy 2.0, but I wish the press would stop asking him questions about his dad. He's not his dad

So if he is “not his dad” why even draft him? You are only interested in him BECAUSE of his dad. He is just another player and there are better options than him even.

@cerd6292 But if he has his dad's grit and character then we want him. think about keth and Matthew tkachuk

This was what I was worried the biggest issue would be. We can't put his father'a career on his shoulders. He's not his father. Let him carve his own path.

My vote for 28th pick is Mietenen. Sounds like a possible power forward

I definitely agree with you on Emery. In my opinion this team needs size. There is a defenseman named Pulkkinen that I am interested in. Currently ranked low thirties but I think he could be better than that

If he is still there (#27 in CS final rankings) I like USHL rookie of the year Center, John Mustard. Fast late-riser in the rankings and still only 17. 6'1", 185 lbs., 71 PIMS with 56 points in 60 games.

Not to be nit picky but why do people say "today's nhl" it is always going to be today's NHL technically , that's my nitpick I've always wondered that

I would be looking at the best player available at the 28th pick. I don't care what position, taking the best is a better chance at the value going up with actual NHL ice time. You can then move other pieces to get what positions you need. To me it seems like the Flames need to just fill the cupboards with good prospects and see which ones pan out.

Conroy and huska are not the way forward for the flames right now
@alexmeinel7908

Prospects are not the way forward for Calgary, flames need to go a way with nhl ready quality and not players we have to wait for to get to nhl which we know they won't get to, it is wasting time on not the right level of players, the more we have to wait for progression is more time having to wait for the flames to bring the Stanley cup back to Calgary and it's just not worth the wait

@@kingkronic no I don't that's why Calgary needs big hit defenceman and big 30 plus goal scorers and middle and wide men who can score also and a proper shot stopping goalie and not rubbish prospects and youngsters who we know won't progress to the level we need them to be at

Speeding up a rebuild is what Treliving tried to do. I am not a fan of that approach. Dealing away picks like they were candy and signing overpriced UFAs got us where we were when Tre jumped ship to let Connie clean up his mess. I think/hope Conroy learned his lesson from watching that tire fire. Tree fire? lol
