I think what made NOLF2 special is they finally got 3d artists to make humans look human for the very first time in a PC game. Most games; even those released years later had low-poly or putty faced people, even main characters in cutscenes. NOLF2 was the first game since the original Shenmue from 2 years prior to impress me with its superior faces and lip-syncing. Both games are great but still it had that going for it, even Doom3 faces looked silly,

I think they make modern characters intentionally less attractive to avoid everyone looking like cover girl models haha. I remember Tomb Raider Definitive Edition being the last game before they they stated that they wanted to take the focus off her for the next title by making her more plain looking. Mass Effect did the same thing with their Jane and John Shepard, though everyone agrees that they went too far. Unfortunately they are both made to look absolutely hideous in Andromeda despite looking quite attractive in 3.

The thing about the skill point you said is somewhat wrong. When you notice the stats on the left of the SP distribution menu, all of her stats are already at 100 percent, which means she is already an expert. But her experience increases as she does a mission. If you think practically, collecting intels, infiltrating bases etc. actually grants you some or much experience on how to deal with similar issues in future, thus making you even more able. The addition of skill points in the game is actually a display of the famous phrase - practice makes a man perfect.

Dude, imagine a reboot of this series, but with a 3rd person perspective and a mixture of shooting and sneaking mechanics inspired by MGSV and Max Payne 3, with set pieces like in the Uncharted series. It could have cutscenes that take inspiration from Hideo Kojima and Quentin Tarantino (as seen in things such as the Kill Bill Movies). Although I’m not sure if the game would look better if it went for a more animated aesthetic such as in Archer, or if it would be better if it looked more realistic. Personally, I think it’d look cool if it had a visual style that kinda replicates the pulpy gouache paintings of James Bond Movies such as Dr. No and From Russia with Love. Basically a mixture between more realist style facial renderings, gestural line usage to delineate silhouette and shadows, and playful color and line usage (seen in things such as the background art for Disney’s 101 Dalmatians 1961) within the environment and incorporated within character designs (for instance, color coordinated character outfits such as in Knives Out). It’s a tall order and I’m probably the only one that’d want such a thing, but I think it could be cool. It’s just a dream anyway.
