This is why I watch you and would drive to Ohio from Va to have you do your magic. I have a pretty good shop I use for the things I can't or won't do myself. I haven't gotten to talk to the owner except to argue several years ago about a 3rd brake light on a camper shell. Still don't have an inspection sticker!

Love the fact you do your sweeps at the steering wheel. That’s the best way. It does a better alignment. Takes the entire steering system into the calibration. That’s how I learn how to do it from my hunter rep. 👍🏼

Do it right, do it once! Well any of these kinds of alignments we sweep probably 5-6 times or more to make sure we are getting true repeatable results. Sounds like you are doing it the right way!

Did you just set the pinion angle by putting an angle finder on the u joint cap and set that at -3? I thought the -3 is in reference to the drivetrain such as the motor centerline. Can you explain how you did that please?

Ohhhh what a question to ask. In OUR world? No. If you are talking a car that's more what we would consider a "true" street car, say something that runs higher than 11s in a quarter... maybe. Any car that's getting a lot of front end lift or pulling the tires, it's gotta be right or you can get into serious trouble quickly. Even something as simple as having the sides mismatched with cross caster or different lift/droop heights can make a car dart dangerously. At some speeds that's driver correctable in most cases, but the less time you spend steering left and right the more time you are going straight down the track. If someone is going to cost cut, we would prefer it be on Power mods not safety/stability mods. Great question though, hope our answer makes sense!
