Jay has way to much fun reviewing gear , Great personality! Awesome Player ! I wished he lived next door to me so he can play my gear to let me know how great my gear sounds and how bad I suck when I play it lol .

Gotta love a good jam! My current rigs depend on my needs: I have traditional amp & pedals, all in one combo amp, a foot pedal amp & cab, & even just an HX stomp with a tuner & DI. I own a variax that hasn’t seen the light of day in about a decade & I wish it did more like one of these guitars! The GTRS is no slouch, but the game would be over if Neural DSP made something like this! I’d rock this with no hesitation! This can easily be the future with a slightly better controller interface for those of us that do a bit of pedal dancing.

Bugs, glitches, fails, then what? Guitar electronics are relatively simple, this isn’t. Great playing as usual. Thanks for posting.

Awesome demo, Jay! Quick question: I would like to improve my chops… could you give me a recommendation of some online program that might be a good resource or service to help guide me?

Personally, I think nothing beats hooking up with a face to face guitar teacher with great musicality and chops. That way you can really focus on your unique abilities and needs that may help you get you to that next level much faster :)

Does it get acoustic sounds and does it detune strings say for open tuning?

Gotta say, not overly impressed with any of the sounds here. The playing is fabulous as always of course, I especially liked the ecasino part and the big loop orchestra at the end, but not much stood out as above average for me purely tone-wise. It's weird how these multi-effects things work - I generally don't like the sounds they produce, yet I still rely on my ultra-cheap Valeton Rushead Max for reverb and tremolo because they both sound great. That guitar itself doesn't seem particularly great in terms of staying in tune either, but Jay's so good he can mitigate that with his playing. Make more videos!

So no *traditional physical rig* then. But having to rely on a computer as a middleman to control sounds *is* like having it running into a “rig”. I was kind of expecting something like a guitar you could plug straight into a live board and play or record a show with with no need for amp, DI, interface or anything.
@JayLeonardJ

The app is how you dial in your presets and sounds. However, once you have all your presets set up, you can plug direct to the board and use the push button on the guitar or on the footswitch to change presets without the need of bringing your tablet with you :)

Why doesn't Fender have a Strat like this??? Maybe they should take a break from relic'ing & start innovating.

Because its all about the money. Recently Fender is also selling theire own guitar pedals. So selling guitars and pedals seperate will earn them more dollars $$$$$$...

It's a cheap guitar. Feels like a cheap guitar. If you're looking to improve playing but the guitar feels wrong, then it won't be played. That said, if you're really in the market for this sort of tech, get a Variax. Any model, new or used. They are far superior in every way, including value for money. Great video though! Just keeping things in perspective.
