ZANU PF is panicking as mass Protests are feared to likely happen towards or during the Summit which may cause it to be abandoned. Nelson Chamisa's silence has caused a lot of speculation and fear which prompted SADC to start engaging the opposition leader in a bid to cool down temperatures.
Towards the summit, it is believed that the regime might try to stop Chamisa from leaving Zimbabwe as they fear his influence might cause uncontrollable social unrest. Nelson Chamisa abandoned all his known cdes and has created a safe distance which makes it impossible for the regime to know what he is planning or thinking and also has isolated his allies and partners from the surveillance radar.
HARARE learned its strategic blunder when it allowed the Summit to happen in the capital where it is believed Chamisa's supporters could be uncontrollable if protests start. It is now too late for the regime to organize for an alternative venue possibly in VIC Falls where protesters could be few and manageable.
However, other reports suggest that ZANU PF regime is afraid the Heads of State may declare SANCTIONS on Harare and defer Mnangagwas much-anticipated takeover of SADC Chairmanship which may result in the regime facing severe consequences for its actions hence a plan to disrupt proceedings in the name of the opposition to gain sympathy and survive the axe.
SADC SUMMIT | The occurrence of the Summit in Harare will be determined by the outcome of SADC and Nelson Chamisa engagement coupled with follow-up intelligence on the safety of Heads of State who are unwilling to have blood on the streets in their presence.
