First time I'm seeing this style, it looks super powerful

Put this man in John Wick 4! I could definitely see a scene where they have a throwing knife fight in a crowded place. These techniques would be perfect for a scene like that.

That's a very interesting way to throw the no spin. I'm still trying to get the side throw down with the regular grip.

Hey man I throw knives a lot. This is dope. How are you throwing with ice pick grip, is you finger on the back of the knife?
@rolfretsel
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, generally all fingers are on the spine except the pinky. This is my way, because if I add the pinky on spine then that would supinate my hand position more, which would require more wrist adjustment than needed.

WOW! This is my first time seeing this technique, I love it. That stabbing grip underhand is wild, it looks so cool and novel. I've got to learn it! If you could get some different angles, I'd really like to see that.

@all9472

How does this compare to standard no spin?
@rolfretsel
2 жыл бұрын
It is more difficult initially. With standard no spin, only the index finger is controlling rotation, and the rest of the fingers have a comfortable duty of stabilizing the knife. For reverse grip, the stabilizers for the knife are the thumb and index, and rotation controllers are the rest of the fingers. The wrist also is a factor. All in all, it's more difficult to get accustomed to, but once figured out, not much more difficult.

wow Lester.....I have just subscribed to your channel. I just received my end grain target today, will put it up tomorrow, and next I am waiting for my set of knives to arrive. So, I am very new ... I am learning so much from Adam Celadin and his videos. I want to ask you are some of your throws known also as the Sknaf style. I love that. I need to learn the basics first!!!!....and being 73 year old woman, thought I would try something totally different, and have some fun, instead of just getting older and older....right? I think you are very talented...and I loved this video.

Thank you. The style I throw is known as a wave technique - which uses reactionary impulses from the passive forces from the knife (think like how a catapult hurls a projectile.) Skanf is a brand like Coke is a cola. I don't know anything about Skanf since I've never learned knife throwing from anyone, or anyyone for that matter who actually represents Skanf. It's great that you have picked up this endeavour. It's a fun hobby that I'm sure you will enjoy. Thank you for watching and your kind comments. 🙏👍
