We put two pairs of Firestone Performer Evos on this year. They were reasonably priced, and we were able to find them local. That might have changed in the last few months with so many things being out of stock. If you can get by with a tube, get a tube, they will probably be in the $150-200 range now for the tube.

Dairy farmers and farmers in general have to be jacks of all trades. There are so many things that you have to know how to do. From equipment operators to the on the farm veterinarian and everything in between, you have to be able to do it all. That’s what I love about farming.

Dang.....so many costs involved in being a dairy farmer. Hoof trimming, clean-out of the pits, mulching the hay, making feed, etc. I cannot believe what you have to go through to make it all work out but I bet you love doing it too. The wife and I really love watching you feed the ladies, I sometimes wish I was there with a broom pushing the feedback towards them after they push it out and away from where they're eating. Oh, well. Keep that smile young man going on.

That grease gun reminds me of the first time I greased up my Volvo EC55 excavator. It was bone dry in almost all fittings and bearings, and I had to pump several times to see any coming out. Think I used a whole cartridge the first couple of times, before it was properly filled up and stopped squealing like a banshee when I moved it about. Best of luck with your new baby. Hope the nursing haze is short for you two.

Enjoy your videos. A reminder of my years on the farm many years ago. You mention cooperation with your neighbors with borrowing or renting equipment and other items. When I was on the farm the sense of community with other farmers was one of the best parts of farm life. It would be interesting if we could get to know some of the other farmers in your community and how the relationships affect your life on the farm. Thanks.

either firestone or michelin are the best tire for quality and longevity but they come with a premium price tag when putting new tires on a tractor it is best to change both sides so then when you are pulling something with the diff lock engaged then you dont wear out your transmission from having two different diameter tires on the same axle

depending on how many holes and how close, they may be able to section repair. I personally would use Michelin radial tires. That looks like what I call a torque split, tire may have been run a little low and it was pulling a big load. Kinda hard to tell from stopping the video to look at. The Michelin tire has a better warranty and its a radial. Better ride easier on equipment, less flats, fuel efficient, and longer tread life. I have never been a farmer but I have sold tires for 30 years(retired) but the customers I sold to loved them after they got over sticker shock. let me know if you have any questions about tires of any kind anytime. hope this helps.

I don't know right now if you'll have any choice with tractor tires. The best tire is the tire you can get. Maybe things are different out east but around here most are just happy finding a tire in the right size in stock at a reasonable distance.

Look into Trelleborg tires. You'll run them down to slicks before they dry rot. Tuff as nails and there not over aggressive but just enough for the muddyiest of conditions.
