Beetroot Greens
Feel what its like to truly starve and i guarantee that you will forever think twice before wasting food. Stop throwing out the leaves of beetroots instead make this nutritious dish. I credit my grandmother for teaching me to love and respect food and today i am sharing one of her recipe to use beetroot greens. These greens are nutritious and contain minerals and antioxidants.
Again chickpea flour adds protein to it. Try out this recipe once and I bet this is going to be your new fav dish.
Ingredients:
1 bunch beetroot leaves
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp jeera
Punch hing
1/2 tap turmeric powder
1/2 tbsp red chili powder
1/2 tbsp cumin-coriander powder
4 tbsp Chickpea flour
Salt to taste
Procedure:
Heat the oil in a frying pan and add chickpea flour and roast it on low flame for 1-2 mins and take it out
In to the same pan, add oil, cumins seeds, pinch of Asafetida and turmeric powder
Now add washed and chopped beetroot leaves
Add all the spice mentioned above with salt and let it cook for 3-4 mins
once the leaves reduce the size of it add roasted chickpea flout and mix well
Now sprinkle 2 tbsp water and cover the lid and let it cook for 1-2 mins on very LOW FLAME
Dish is ready to serve with roti or enjoy it as a side.
