People are just so frustrated. Food, all insurance, healthcare, gas, rent, utilities Many newcomers drive with no plates or insurance, applying for temporary work through translators and attorneys. Most taxpayers is just done with all the lying and corruption around them.

Part D ,Silver Scripts went from $10.77 to $46.77, previous had no deductible, now $590 annual deductible, also co pay for generic tier 1,2 drugs goes from 0 to $10 , I take 4 prescriptions. So $40 $for copay , $36 premium increase , $49 per month for annual deductible. $135 increase per month just to keep current part D coverage. My SS will increase $67 , Im minus $68 per month Thank you Kamala.

@@allrightonthetrail8873you see, that’s what I don’t get. If you don’t take some expensive experimental drug, then why get a part D at all? 80% of medicines are generic these days and more come off patent every day. And the penalty is ridiculously low. 1% per month, so it doubles your premium in a little over 8 years? If you are 73 and get something bad that you need a part D to handle, a doubled premium is going to be the least of your worries. And you’ve saved 8 years worth of payments.

I’m 32 and I can’t WAIT until I can take SS. My family longevity is only until late 70s at best and therefore taking it between 62-64 is optimal for me. Wife and I are maxing out Roth IRA and up to match on our 401k, maybe a little extra. Projected to be 401k/IRA millionaire by mid late 50s and will retire around then… maybe sooner. Have fun in the prime of our older adult years and slow it down as the years roll by.

My Part D for SilverScript Choice is increasing from $9.90 per month to $44.90 per month. $300 more in 2025. I am definitely losing some of my COLA! AND my copays are increasing. AND my deductible is doubling. I can change to a prescription plan that covers less of my med costs 😢.

My current social security is $324.70. I got hit by WEP for working abroad for my career after grad school. I got a job in Canada and was glad to get it. So my social security take home after Medicare part B will stay the same at $150. The thing about the hold harmless clause is that once it applies you lose part of any future COLAs to make up for what Medicare Part B premiums you didn't pay because of the Hold Harmless clause. For example, in my case my total SS will go up by $8.10. I am currently paying $174.70 for Medicare Part B. If Medicare part B goes up to $185, I will in effect be paying only $182.80 rather than $185. So if inflation takes off again and Medicare goes up to $200 in 2026, my Social Security COLA would have to be at least $17.20 or 5.17% before I would get an extra penny in social security take home. Fortunately it looks like my Canada Pension and Old Age Security (Canadian versions of social security) are going up by a bit over 3%. I should get the CPI-Y because my yacht expenses are through the roof.

The problem with any CPI is that it is wrongly calculated. Since good change over time, the CPI has to change and substitute items. The problem is that quality is no longer going up, somethings are getting better, but many things are worse. Forever, cars were getting better, they performed better, lasted longer, and so on. Now they are junk, and aren't as durable as as a decade ago because of government regulations that forced cars to go from V8's to v6's to now turbo charged 4's that cost more and break faster. Walmart imports frozen vegetables from China, which are full of chemicals, houses that kept getting bigger and bigger now come on postage sized lots, built with the cheapest materials available, warped lumber for framing, cheap imported materials from China. So the substitution to cheaper goods is keeping inflation lower than reality.

Josh, I think the anger is because of the manner in which Congress determines COLA. 2.5% COLA because of "inflation", YET...at the same time, Congress raises Medicare by 5.9%. It's not the dollars, it's the percentages that appear to be "unfair." My wife and I will get an increase of @$150.00 a month. Our Medicare Part B will increase by @$20.00, assuming it goes to $185.00. So we will net @$120.00 monthly or $1,440 annually. That will almost cover the increase in groceries. Ha! Tax wise, because of the method in which we will be taxed in 2025, it won't really hurt us. Also...as has been the case for years, CPI today is NOT the same CPI from years ago. It changes whenever Congress decides to change it, for their reasons. BTW... since I am on a Carnivore Diet, (BBB&E mainly) I still buy steaks, primarily ribeyes, wherever I can find them on sale. I am paying $8-$13 a pound for ribeyes. Chuck steaks, NY Strips, and Hamburger are a lot cheaper, and I eat those too. Food Lion, IGA and ALDIs are my three main sources. Keep up the great work brother.
