So yes, people root for the competition and stay loyal hoping they succeed because no one wants to pay 1000++++ for a gpu. @@mio1201 Because most people who are buying Halo products are either gamer enthusiast, streamers or people who use it for work. That's why AMD is doing Rocm etc to rival Nvidia software but it would still take a while for them to really rival Nvidia in terms of software, their Hardware is generally okay, except they got f*** over in 7000's because of the chiplet and the midrange or entry level ain't worth upgrading if you have RX 6000's or RTX 3000's GPU's. Just my observation why AMD is still not being preferred over NVIDIA and the constant repeated talking points of some people who still live in 2016 or something, that AMD still has driver problems etc while ignoring NVIDIA L's on drivers also, they probably OC their AMD gpu hence the driver timeout whatnot also encountered such problem when i bought my rx6600 and tinkering with OC.

This is one of the major reasons, a) if I was going for something in the performance ranges, it would be for a lower power / silent type machine with minimal power draw. b) the cheaper AMD, with the amount I use my PC would basically come out even over a few years with power prices, plus I get better feature sets. The other reason is historically, at least for me/friends, driver stability has been shocking, The only AMD card that has been decent I've seen is the 6900XT that will still occassionally blank out on my room mate.. Vega64 good luck getting an hour gaming out of that without black screen crash, even older one, can't remember exactly but I had to overclock the idle speeds to keep it stable, more power, more energy cost. AMD actually need to compete for sales. They haevn't competed really for a long time.

I switched from Nvidia to AMD a few months ago and it was great up until a couple weeks ago. I started getting constant driver crashes/timeouts. I’d get a black screen and upon restart none of my drivers wouldn’t be working and I’d have to wipe and reinstall them. If it wasn’t for the fact that I was willing to find a solution to fix the crashes, I probably would have gotten rid of the card. I couldn’t imagine what a normal person that’s less tech savvy would feel in this situation. And trust me, I’ve tried EVERYTHING. It’s been 2 days since I’ve last crashed, which is the longest time I’ve been stable without driver crashes in the past couple weeks. So let’s hope I found the solution this time lol. I talked to AMD and they said to RMA through the manufacturer, which is XFX in this case.

Prior to building my first PC, i was deadset on a 4080 because I'd only ever heard of Nvidia GPUs and assumed everything else was just a waste of money. 3 weeks of researching GPUs later and i discovered AMD was better for raw power and cost and havent ever looked back. Someone on either reddit or KZitem described Nvidia as the Apple equivalent and I knew I'd never give them my money. Letting 1 company dominate the market off of brand recognition means consumers lose because there's no competition to set prices or compare feats for innovation. AMD and Intel have to wash Nvidia out of the mid and low range market
