On today's episode I finally get around to installing and testing the Noctua NH-U14S CPU cooler. I was really curious just how much the U14S would effect my Ryzen R7 2700X. I benchmarked the stock heatsink and the Noctua unit with 2 blender renders (BMW and my own project), Handbrake, and finally the small FFT and large FFT Prime 95 tests.
Ever since the Principled Technologies benchmarks commissioned by Intel I've wanted to compare the stock Wraith Prism CPU cooler to the NH-U14S, and I finally did!
It is very handy that the Fractal Design Meshify C has a large cut out in the back for cooler installation. All in all it was a fairly easy installation, though a good note is that you should remove the fan from the cooler before trying to fasten down the cooling tower...
I hope you all enjoy the video, the graphs took quite a while to create but I am happy with how they turned out and are presented.
