In Sardinia it is called "trunfa", in Sicily " marranzano". In Italy its called "scacciapensieri", literally: thing that carries away worries.

It can be called either one, look it up. On wiki it's known first as Jew's Harp. So it's really personal preference.

Actually "doromb" is a perfectly autentic name, since it's one of the many native names, and it was never a native instrument in any english speaking culture.

That’s not true, the history of Britain has just been very obscured in an attempt to hide the reigns of terrors of their past, before they started colonising and ethnically cleansing the rest of the world, they practiced it on their own soil… Old trumps are often dug up at archeological sites and searches in Britain actually! Before it got separated from the mainland it might very well have even been part of some of the great empires of the past, and most probably the ‘trump’ as they call it there nowadays ended up in the region some time back then :-) If you can get your hands on a version of the book: de gedachtenverdrijver/thought expeller of Phons Backxs, you can get access to a lot of info about the instrument, it’s origins, heritage, cultures, history etc. Throughout all the regions and cultures it is or has reached and been part of throughout the times ❤

"Jaw Harp" is not correct and made up post toc. "Jew's Harp" is the correct name. There are several theories about its name's history. Could be it has nothing to do with the jewish people and is a "degeneratet" foreign form, could also be it was mostly sold by mobile jewish traders or some traders introduced it as the not specified harps which are mentioned in the hebrew testament. The one thing which is for sure: there is no etymological connection with "jaw" and the variation "jaw harp" is rather recent and pseudo-etymological.

Jaw harp is the correct name, let's assume that jewish traders introduced it to wherever they went but still this instrument way much older than jewish traders introduced it to wherever. It is Turkic, Altaic, Siberian instrument. Many Turkic people call a music instrument KOMUS,KOMUZ,KOBIZ,KOPUZ,XOMUS(HOMUS) so it can be any instrument, also "AGIZ" KOMUSU / KOMUZU / KOBIZI, KOPUZU means " the instrument you play with your jaw/mouth" which translates into English as JAW HARP. Turkic people know that it is way much older than 1700 years yet a JAW HARP recently found in Turkic Altai Republic still works and dated 1700. I do not think jewish people ever been to Turkic Altai and yes you are correct it has nothing to do with jewish people in relation to its origin and its name. It has a connection with JAW as you use the acoustic of your mouth / jaw to resonate a sound of imitation of the nature that is also why Turkic people called it AGIZ KOPUZU ( the instrument you play with your mouth / jaw ) which is JAW HARP in English.

because they call it jews harp and they written Altai jews harp it is Turkic Altaic Siberian instrument which very very ancient yet some one comes and call its jews harp lol ( saying that I did not dislike the video because of this, actually liked it listed it but assuming that is why people would dislike it, only way to describe the dislikes ) if your name is Petr Larin you would not like to be called jews Larin lol
