Tears of joy here. So many cover versions out there, none come close to your perfection. Cameron should get you to do the score for the new film they're working on. You should do a whole concept album, or maybe an EP of as much of the score as you feel like. I would love, LOVE LOVE LOVE, more than anything, to hear a 'clean' version of the "Escape From the Police Station" cue as it's heard in the movie, NOT the inferior soundtrack version. Python Blue already did a cover of it, and it's very good.

This is so amazing, it sounds like brad Fidel himself could’ve composed this, I especially appreciate the audio wobble to make it seem more vintage

I have recurring Terminator nightmares. I dream I'm being chased by a T-800, charging at me at top speed, through walls, buildings, over obstacles, unstopping. We have all been chased by someone in our lives - think back on the sheer fear and terror in the very moment that you're running for your life. Now imagine the one chasing you is the Terminator. That's my nightmare. Sheer and utter panic and terror. I've always thought of the original Terminator concept and the original movie as a horror movie, a soul-crushing chase. These themes would perfectly illustrate these dreams of mine. This is a disturbing medley, but that is perfectly accurate to this concept. I still hope for Cameron's new Terminator to be more of a horror flick. Something horrifying. Thank you for this, and keep up the good work.

Dude, The Terminator came out the year I was born, and my Dad was already a fan of Arnold before that. I can't remember a time in my life before Terminator. Imagine being just a baby and watching this movie. I to, had many nightmares of a Terminator trying to kill me. And I was honestly dissappointed with T2 when I first saw it in theaters when it came out in '91 when I was 7 years old. I hated that the movie didn't have the same tone as the first (and still don't). Every movie franchise I had seen as a kid up to that point all had the same tone (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future. Only the "rocky' movies had a change in tone, but it was slow, over time with each sequel). I'm actually using a lot of this "synthwave" music like Noir Deco here to 'fan edit' Terminator 2 to make it 'feel' more like a true sequel to the first. I also would hope that this new Terminator sequel would be a callback to the first, but alas, from what I'm reading on 'terminator fan' websites, I have almost no doubts that it's gonna be just as bad as every other sequel. I think the best way to make a 'true' sequel to part 1 would be, get a director who's a fan of ONLY part 1, give him a budget of no more than 10 million dollars, set the movie ONLY in the future war setting, use little to no CGI, and NO past characters. Give us a fresh template of new characters to follow and care for.

Oh, and I was scared of the Endoskeleton's face in the teaser when I saw it as a kid. Looking back, it sucks so much that this teaser implied that part 2 would have the same horror/slasher movie vibe as part 1, only to end up being watered down (pun intended) with preachy social commentary/messages shoved down our throats.

It was. Actually, the terminator is one of the most brilliant cross-genre picture ever. It is a traditional slasher flick a la Halloween, but with a killer cyborg instead of a knife-weildingmaniac. T2 might have had a huge budget and mor advanced effects, but it doesn't come anywhere near the creative mastery of the original one.

I love to hear your opinions, my dudes. For me, I prefer T2 over T1. It should be noted, I saw T2 before I saw T1. I'm 3 years younger than you, and T2 was one of the first films I ever saw. I saw T1 years later, and of course I love it. But I prefer T2. It's got no more social commentary than T1 - technology is scary and dangerous and we should be careful with the things we invent. T2 only brought more nuance to it by introducing the humans behind the future doom, showing them as hopeful scientists who genuinely want to make the world a better place. Sure, it's more of a Hollywood piece, but it's still got equal pieces dark and light. Innocent, decent people get horrifically murdered and "slashed" and even our hero dies, but we're left with something in return - a sense of hope for the future. Fair trade. But Goddamn, the first movie is wonderfully bleak! Amazing dystopian feeling. Michael Biehn is great, Arnold is great, Linda Hamilton is great. The Brad Fiedel score is haunting and the effects are stunning and chilling even today. The Tech Noir scene is probably the finest hour of James Cameron.
