But in one of our honest and frank conversations on death and what we would want for the other, and you said, i wouldn't want you to "fulfill our death pact" (if I die, you "follow" and vice versa) I want you to get your teeth pulled for dentures, and pick up and play the trumpet again, I know how happy it makes you (me) and others as well, and 2 years after you died, I got my teeth pulled...😢 I miss you every day and night, and I love you as much as ever.❤ We'll see each other again, when the time is right ❤ I love you.

"It was another dreary night in the city that never sleeps, where the rain falls like the tears of a thousand lost souls. The kind of night that wraps around you like a damp shroud, reminding you that some stains never wash away. My name's Jack Marlowe. I used to be a cop, but that was a lifetime ago. Now, I scrape by as a private eye, digging through the dirt and grime of this city, hoping to find a glimmer of truth. Most days, it's a thankless job, but every now and then, a case lands on my desk that sets the old gears turning, a case that reminds me why I started doing this in the first place. Tonight felt different. The air was thick with more than just rain. It was heavy with something else-something dangerous, something that had the scent of trouble all over it."

I've been a professional and private bartender here in Los Angeles for 40 years. This music is how I feel when I'm working late at night in Hollywood. If there's ever a place to gain experience and knowledge gathering intel while preparing a well-made cocktail for various guests from all over the world, it's right here in the biggest small town in America.

....As I was sitting at the bar going on my 4 or 5th whiskey, listening to some nice soft jazz being played in the dark bar and as always thinking back to the one I let slip away in my delicious booze-induced fog... Then I heard the front door swing open and saw a woman’s figure in a raincoat, stepping into the dark bar and removing her rain soaked hat, letting loose her long blond hair as if slow motion. She looked around the room...and what seemed to focus on me as she started walking my way. I'd been a gumshoe for decades, seen it all, done it all. But something about this woman, this blonde woman with her haunting eyes and the way she walked, drew me in. As she approached, I caught a whiff of her perfume, a scent that was both intoxicating and mysterious, a scent that seemed to promise danger and intrigue....

I´ll never forget those eyes, eyes like guns, some would say. My greatest regret is, having jailed her just by a petty love crime, otherwise, she would have been the one... dammit, she was The One. I´ll never see her again. Life is crazy, and now, it´s just me and my gun, perhaps some scotch left in the drawer, I don´t know, maybe there´s luck, at least, once in a blue moon.

The fifth bottle of bourbon weighed heavily in my system, pleading for more, while my wallet was on life support. I sat there, methodically consuming one pack after another. Somehow, she found me-4 foot 2 with a heart of bronze -and a form that captivated. It was as if she were a trash bag filled with peach tea, exuding warmth on a December night. I adored her, all 400 pounds of her. As I stood, momentarily immobilized by her presence, she stopped, dropped and rolled toward me with a grace. She took my breath away. My heart raced, bursting with vigor, like a sledgehammer crushing a grape. Overwhelmed with excitement, I found myself, all 7 foot 2 of me, on one knee before her, ring in hand. I held it in front of her glass eye-the one without the patch-she lit up like a Christmas tree…

It was a Thursday like no other. The routine I’ve built up is crumbling. The case has leads that lead nowhere dead ends deader than my cat. You think you found a lead, though small, that’ll lead somewhere, but alas, its a cold trail. If this case doesn’t get solved soon, this city won’t be able to be built back up, and that’s what I fear the black rose is going for, to destroy and the empire to build a new one upon its ashes.

"There I was, alone at that old and dirty diner, going for a late meal or an early breakfast, like it mattered at all. Coffe was cold and bitter just like my ex-wife, while toasts were crumbing worse than my bank account and bacon was past its expiration date, same as my dreams. My innards complained that cheap omelette was a bad decision. Adding refried beans was an even worse one. I hurried to the bathroom like a rat up a drainpipe. The "Sorry out of order" sign stopped me deader than a fly in the web. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. Just suck it up, Buster. Such is life."

The dame had it all - even though she wore next to nothing. "You got a pen, babe," I asked her. "Yeah but someone left the gate open. That's how I got here. You got any problems with that?" I should have left then. But I didn't and the problems began short time later. And lasted a long, long time.

Our romance started with the purest form of bio electrochemical reactions to each other's natural smell and the way we could just be, telling each other our most dark shame and not feel afraid of being alone or judged, and how i knew when I met you in 92 that we would be happy together, and 18 yrs later, January 2010, you walked up to me, don't i know you from somewhere? And I, mouth agape, said Hi Anna vickaryous... I persued you after that day, then on a warm, early spring day, I played trumpet, softly, outside and across the street from your apartment, you started recording a small bunny watching and listening intently to me play. And you said, I should maybe give him a chance... And when you died 2 years ago, I lost everything that I ever truly loved. 😢
