This is not only really good, but also incredible nostalgic. I remember watching TNG on cable when I was 12 with my family and loving every single second of it. Although the perceived good old times may look better by comparison, we must always look forward for a better and brighter future. And maybe, someday we will be able to explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and to boldly go where no man has gone before.
@sgshaday

This is pretty inspirational to be honest. I grew up with this show as well - albeit a little younger - with my dad too. He was the type to read my brother and I Asimov and Arthur C Clarke from the books he had around. We were poor, so we'd go to grandma's house to watch TNG as a ritual. I was able to relate to many of the challenges Data went through on the show as he grew up. When I was a bit older I was diagnosed with autism, and then it kind of made sense. To the point where I call my friends, Geordis because they are the type of people who can work around with my challenges, and inspire me to push myself. I am no android - I passed the captcha hah - and I am glad that Spiner decided to paint this blank canvas with his own take and talent. It was up to me to find that connection, and I did. This character, and the way Spiner depicted him, has meant a lot to me since. The show is home, is family, it's my grandma looking on amused. It's my dad's excitement and my brother's and I amusement. When we were able to afford things, we started collecting as a family, a small cache of memories. My dad and I got a telescope so we could stargaze after the show, and we drove to conferences in the Arecibo telescope - back then, wow. And ever since I was able to fully understand the following quote from Data, I made it a part of my life, and it, and family, and faith, had gotten me to where I am today - working in simulations and rendering systems, after my time with robots XD "It is the struggle itself that is most important. We must strive to be more than we are, Lal. It does not matter that we will never reach our ultimate goal. The effort yields its own rewards."
