This piece of work is months of thought and effort finally compiled into video form, and although I say this a lot, I am very proud of it!
So, many months ago I knew I wanted to make a voiceover tribute showing Non/Disney parallels, like the voiceover from one movie that fits another movie also. I got a notebook and wrote down two full pages of voiceover ideas and possible parallels, which took quite some time. For the music, I was QUITE sure I was going to use an instrumental, particularly the Piano Guys Beethoven's 5 Secrets Instrumental because that is my all time favorite, BUT Liv already used it for her Parallels MEP and Aariel was planning to use it for her final Miss Disney round, so I had to choose something else. I chose the beautiful Young Blood remix, which, I feel, is better than the original song. Is it just me, or doe the actual song lyrics make no sense? I have no idea at all what that song is supposed to mean. Anyways, I chose that song because it sounds so shimmery and beautiful and has enough good instrumental parts to fit the voiceovers.
The voiceovers were VERY time consuming. First, going off of my notebook, I had to get each movie into my project and cut the voiceovers one at a time. Then I organized the voiceovers by theme (for example, love, being who you are, etc) This was one of the hardest parts, because, since I couldn't rename voiceover audio, I could only see which movie they came from, so I had to listen to each voiceover several times. The main goal here was to have themed voiceovers at different parts of the song, and have those themes bridged together by a voiceover that was in the middle or fit both themes. I hope you get what I mean, feel free to ask. So, it did take time deciding which voiceovers went where, but I eventually think I got it. The only problem was the very beginning. With the exception of the first two voiceovers (Tangled and Quasi) that was basically where I put all the leftover voiceovers.
Please don't mind if the audio is off. I am terrible at audio and the voiceovers volume might be all over.
After the voiceovers were in a basic place it was time for visuals. Luckily, this wasn't the hardest part because in those two pages of voiceovers, I wrote a parallel for almost every one. You may notice that some of the voiceovers are on top of their own films, and that was because I thought they fit best there.
I tried to use every film I had used a voiceover for, and with the exception of Lilo & Stitch, I did that. I only wanted a specific genre of movie but it was very broad. I wanted fairytale/fantasy movies, no modern setting movies (even though I used Lilo & Stitch voiceovers) I didn't originally want to use CGI but I ended up using a Tangled voiceover, so I added Tangled, then Frozen because I didn't want only one CGI movie.
The next step was the text, which probably took the most time, even though none of it even moved. The original plan was to write every word in the voiceover, which ended up looking too crowded. With my little sister's opinion, I ended up keeping most of it, and only cut a few words. I was deciding between three fonts for the scripty words. All three of my sisters hated notera, but when I asked my dear DGS friends, almost all picked notera, so I ended up using it :D
The text was SO hard! I was going for inconsistency because writing lines in the middle of the screen can look boring. I based it off what looked good and where it could fit. I tried to stack text, without making it look like a paragraph, but did not pull it off well. I think I ended up obtaining something I liked, which was a shiny feel. Some of the text I wanted to put behind the characters, and some of it I pulled off, and some looked so bad I put it back in the front.
I think that's about it for the process. If you read all that, comment "Amber loves me" because I do! :3
I really really can't wait to hear what you guys have to say! This was a LOT of effort and I really hope you like it!
On another note, consider this a dedication to all our subscribers for our 4 year anniversary on KZitem! Not the exact date, but we started in August 2012 and couldn't be happier!
