As a malaysian muslim, I see the Filipinos as brothers and sisters. There are so many similarities, from climate to our appearences to aspects of our culture. And I follow some Filipino youtubers and got always enjoy culture, so I looked into like how religion is over there, and when you watch a filipino Catholic sermon, it really is similar to how an Islamic sermon in Malay or Indonesian is. And to those who really like reading up on religion, specifically how religion effects culture and a nation, actually the Catholics and Muslims in Southeast Asia really have more similarities than differences. I hope no more atrocities happen and I am opposed to all religious extremists.

At the end, the Filipinos began their apology and tolerance tour. Don't. Christians have become very tolerant. When these extreme Muslims act this way, don't have compassion for them. Instead, treat their harshness with your own. The gentle Muslims that extend compassion, reflect that compassion back to them in ways of your own compassion and tolerance. Don't be the sucker to say that "we" are not tolerant enough. Respect is earned but some should be extended initially and maintained as long as it's reciprocal. Middle Eastern Muslims are NOT the same as Filipino Muslims. Filipino Muslims are much more tolerant and gentle and accepting. That is what differentiates them from their neighbors, the Indonesians. Indonesians persecute the gays in their country, however, Filipinos have great compassion for gays and transexuals.

My religion is Islam, I live here in Cotabato City, Mindanao and my family and I are natives here. Some parts of what the interviewees said were right. Islam is about peace. The BOL that is given to us now is what the Muslim groups (From Ustadz Hashim Salamat to the current leader of MILF now) from decades ago want to have. They are not fighting because of religion but because of the better living that is deprived from us. We want equality in terms of living and job opportunities. We didn't have voice in the government because from senate to the president, it's always Christian who is in position and a lot of them are anti-muslims. Marcos and Estrada are just some of them. In the term of F.Marcos, there were a lot of Muslims that were killed because of left and right massacres but the media didn't broadcast it. In the term of E.Estrada, he commanded an all out war for muslims. They burned the mosques and also massacred muslims. But it's funny how the MEDIA call Muslims a terrorist when the leaders were the terrorists. As what Pres. Duterte said, the Mindanao is originally belong to us, Muslims. My elder family members said that people in Mindanao before were not educated and didn't know about LAND TITLES. And that's how the LAND GRABBING started. There are big lands here who owned by non-natives- that's already a proof. You will also never see a native here who's Christian. Christians here are Ilocano, Ilonggo who are from Visayan region. Also, there are people here who have high status and acting as if they are kings (they have political dynasty) and are claiming themselves a Muslim but just to let you know, they are not natives here, they are from Manila and other regions in Luzon... Datu Odin Sinsuat is just an example. ISIS and ABUSAYAF on the other hand, are groups who have nothing to do with MILF. ISIS is a big terrorist group of Shia not Islam and they are supported by the U.S (but the media doesn't give their 'effin camera on it), Abusayaf is a group that only concern for money. What they are doing is absolutely NOT ISLAMIC.

It's always fascinating to me how Filipinos mix Tagalog with English. I'd love to know why some people when asked a question in Tagalog reply in only English, while others reply in a mix of Tagalog and English, and still others reply in (what I assume is) pure Tagalog. I would think that if you were asked a question in Tagalog you would reply in the same language, or at least a mixture. And I have watched the Asian Boss video about using English in the Philippines, and found it fascinating as well. The mixture of the two languages is such a strange phenomenon.

You are vastly misinform. Monotheist religions such as Christianity and Islam preach violence by the mere fact that they state their God is the only God, and everyone else is wrong. Everyone else will burn in Hell. This is something that doesn't happen with Polytheist religions, mostly of which are truly peaceful and accepting of everyone. This doesnt mean every christian or Muslim is a bad person, but if you read their Holy Books, both religions teach very violent and unequal principles. Luckily Christians acknowledges this and have reformed their belief to fit the XXI values. Muslims, as a rule, have not.

Philippine was a melting pot, longest European colony in Asia 500 years.. Philippines was also a tributary to Song and Ming dynasties. Luisung is the original name of the Philippines, named by China. Philippine is also thought to be a tributary state of the Buddhist Srivijaya empire that controlled the trade and its sea routes from the 6th to 9th century. Chinese, Japanese, Javanese and Muslim traders were already in the Philippines long before Spanish arrival. Islam came to Philippines after the fall of the Hindu Javanese Majapahit Empire in 13th or 14th century. Spanish Catholicism came in 15th. The hindu Javanese retreated to Bali..

The Philippine Government should strictly implement the Separation of Church and State. No religion has the right to intervene in politics, and all politicians should pledge first its loyalty to the Philippine Constitution rather than to its religious books. Since then we all know that religion cause chaos all over the world.

Dude... The Philippines is already a SECULAR STATE/COUNTRY as per the 1987 Philippine Constitution... Its just that the priests and bishops and other religious leaders here in the Philippines are either too THICK FACED and SPOILED by the previous administrations that they always have this feeling of empowerment to meddle and intervene in the politcal affairs of the state.... If ever youre Filipino and you dont know this... Well sucks for you....

Regarding the bombing issue, I think Asian Boss should have done the interviews in Mindanao region, in any part of Mindanao like Davao City, to indulge more to it and get the most authentic insights they are looking related to that issue. Because if they are to ask opinions of common people, then the interview should have been conducted on the nearest area of the incident and the interviewees must be coming from that area as well. They are the ones who experience such happenings on that certain event. Metro Manila is very far from the happenings. Anyways, the production was still good specially with the stereotypes.

I'm a Filipino from Mindanao who moved abroad when I was seven. It's interesting to see the disparity between the thoughts of people in Manila and the thoughts of people in Mindanao. As said, we should generalise the Muslim faith but we also shouldn't generalise people. I know people in Mindanao who experience these attacks are significantly more likely to harbour negative feelings about Muslims irregardless of age bracket and economic status. As people from Manila are dettached from the situation and it is easier for them to see past the hate and fear that ravages Mindanao.
