My husband and I met in college, we went to a private Christian university. I was shocked at how many guys went to that school who were the OPPOSITE of a Godly man. When I met my husband I thought he was too good to be true. I had never met a man who held himself to such standards of Godliness- kindness, respect, chivalrous, loyalty, dated for marriage, communication, saved himself for marriage, longed for kids, prayed with me, etc. He is my absolute best friend in the entire world. People think we’re “too” lovey dovey or hallmark-y but we don’t care. We’re simply best friends in love. ♥️🤷🏼♀️🙏🏻

I looked for someone who: -willed for my best (Cared about my best interest) -wanted children -helped me grow closer in my relationship with God -took his role as the man in our relationship seriously (took responsibility in that role) -was honorable and trustworthy I was 30 when I found my wonderful husband. He treats me like a lady and 5 kids later still tells me I’m beautiful and he loves me every single day. I prayed for him and God delivered him to me. It took patience and time but God is so faithful and wants the right match for us.

I love the skits! Me and my husband met in high school before we were both saved, so we were in a relationship after high school whenever we weren't saved, and there weren't expectations which exposes the world we live in and how many lies we are told growing up! Without the armor of God we will not make it. After Jesus saved us both in different ways we went to church and got baptized a day before our 3 year dating anniversary. We started over and waited for marriage and started to get to know each other for the first time because we had been sober for the first time in 3 years after giving our lives to Christ. Now we have been married for over a year, and will never be the same! We admire your channel and will raise our kids to save themselves, and train them to live their lives for Jesus, we want to give them the life we didn't have. I love to see y'all do what y'all do❤

As a person who never wants kids, I appreciated that part SO much, where you talked about kids/no kids should be a non-negotionable and people should not try to change us and not getting into a relationship with us, thinking we'll change our minds. Thank you for this ❤️
@TropicalRedFlower
2 жыл бұрын
However, that is dangerous, I'm talking about being married and not wanting kids so bad, because you know, in marriage people is constantly being intimate and there's a possibility that can happen, then, what will you do? Killing the baby is a sin, giving it in adoption when you have a home, finances and don't even know what kind of future awaits for them and you are enjoying your life, it's wrong too. So, I think that if a person is so opposed to the idea of children they should also be opposed to be having sex, because that's a possibility and an irreversible one. God bless.

Birth control?
@kisskiss6866
2 жыл бұрын
@@TropicalRedFlower There are multiple forms of birth control, and if you're combining them, the chances of getting pregnant is very, very, very low. Also, I see absolutely nothing wrong, not even Biblically, with adoption, if pregnancy does happen. What would be better for a child? To grow up with their blood family who despise them and never wanted them, or to grow up in a family where they aren't blood relatives but the child is wanted and so loved? I don't see why would it be necessary for a child-free person to live in celibacy and without love and marriage just because parenthood is not their calling

Maybe one of my non negotiables is that they have an active/healthy lifestyle. It shows me that you take your health seriously and you take care of yourself. If you can have self control in what you eat and have discipline in exercising, I feel like that shows you respect yourself and your body. Also if you’re disciplined and strong physically, you’re more likely to have better mental clarity/strength. Which is important. So how they take care of themselves is a non negotiable for me.

The mindset of ,,my spouse has to be a virgin" is not okay. Many people messed up before they found God and it's not right to disqualify them simply because of their past mistakes. If they repent and want to stay pure going forward, insisting on them to be a virgin is simply from a place of insecurity and hatered, which is definitely NOT from God and should be something you need to work on. I do not mean any hate, I love you guys, I just want the people watching this that might not be a virgin anymore to know that you are enough and that if somebody rejects you because you slept with someone THEY are the problem. THEY are not being forgiving as God would want them to be and THEY need to work on themselves. If this happened to you, it's probably for the best though, a person like that would not be good for you and God has someone way better who will love you just as you are in store for you so do not give up. And do not let comments like this make you feel like you are less valuable or ,,damaged goods" as some would say. You are amazing for trying to wallk the right path, it's not something many people are capeable of, so be proud of yourself. Again, I do not mean any hate, please read this in a loving tone, thats how it was meant to be read, I just thought I'd add some perspective. God bless you all❤️❤️

A great video would be the difference between a controlling relationship in contrast to a healthy relationship. I saw multiple controlling marriages (including my brother’s…his wife controls his and their kids’ every move) where one spouse controls the other in an unhealthy way. Before my brother got married, it was clear he was her everything. I think he liked it then, but now it turned into a controlling relationship. I think she controls him because of her fear of him not being with her anytime he’s not working. She put in his head, you’re away so much for work that if you’re not home with me and the kids all the other time, you’re not a good family man. And they are the tightest helicopter parents. I’m allowed to play with my nephew in the backyard or basement of my parents’ house with them in the family room upstairs. But that’s the farthest away I’m allowed. Anyway, my non-negotiable is don’t expect me to control you, and don’t control me. Keep that happy balance in the relationship.

Something for me with marriage is being independent. Have your own finanances, be established, and have a plan because from my experiences and others around me, anyone can turn on you even if they are a Christain and go to church and act the part, they can still turn on you and be unfaithful. You can always put your trust in God though even if others treat you wrong or are unfaithful. Make sure you get your purpose, peace and happiness from God first and foremost. He will stick by your side and never leave or forsake you.

Yeah, I'm 25 and I'm doing the exact same thing. If I could share some advice with your son, I'd say, you only need one, you only need to do this once. Once you find a good one, you'll have her the rest of your life and you'll never need to wait again. If you don't wait and just settle for anything that's in your area at the time, you'll get involved in unnecessary drama and even if you do get married, it won't last. In the grand scheme of things, what's 25 years? If it takes 25 years to find a solid one, you could enjoy the next 60 with her! God bless. 🙏

@@skottcellar5245 I did go to college actually. I have a bachelors degree and I started a master’s program. I worked all through high school and saved money, I applied to every scholarship I was elegible for, and I worked full time the whole time I was in school. Oh also I was a single mom for 4 of the 5 years I was in school… so it’s 100% doable

@@skottcellar5245I’m not trying to marry everyone. Only my person. And I value no debt so highly that my person will also do that. I’ve paid for all my cars with cash. I took out student loans, and I paid them all back within months. I always live below my income and save every month. Sure, many men are in debt, but that can be a non negotiable for me if it’s a value I have… and that easily weeds out MANY men, and I don’t have to waste my time dating them.

Thank you for posting and I agree with most of the non-negotiables, but you really needed to add in scriptures to support them. Lying, boundaries, cheating, dating more than one person at the same time, not wanting children, etc... are all expounded in the bible either explicitly or implicitly.

I really loved and agree with most of what you both said here. However, I do struggle with the fact that Nate said that a woman being a virgin was a non-negotiable for him (obviously it all worked out, which is wonderful to see) While i agree wholeheartedly that sexual immorality is a huge issue, i also don’t want to diminish the redemptive power of Christ. I was not walking with Jesus a few years ago, and unfortunately i made some mistakes and I’m not a physical virgin anymore. But i also don’t believe this makes me any less deserving of a Godly man. I’ve prayed over and struggled with the fact that i made mistakes in the past regarding sexuality, to the point of what felt like mourning the loss of a loved one. I truly believe that i am redeemed and renewed as a new creation in Christ. I don’t have any memories from my past experiences, other than the fact that i know that they happened. I gladly practice celibacy now, and I’ve made a vow to myself and to God, to not even kiss a man until that man has proposed to me. And literally just like a peck until we’re married, because i don’t ever want to fall into the same sin that i struggled so hard to overcome. Marriage is a representation of Christ and His church. And the entire story is one of grace and forgiveness. To not even give someone a chance because of what they have done in their past, something that they have repented for and have turned from completely, is not the best example of Christ-like love, in my own opinion. I think if someone was still living in that sin, that’s an obvious non-negotiable, and i believe a pretty clear sign that they aren’t walking as close to the Lord as they might claim. But ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Sexual purity is a wonderful thing, something that should be desired, but i don’t think it’s right to put sexual sin on a whole other level than any other sin. The Bible says that if we break even the least of Gods commandments, we are guilty of them all. I truly believe i am restored and washed clean, and able to present a new and pure creation to my future husband (i will of course be transparent about my past) not by my own works, but by the work of Jesus Christ. I know that the man that God has ordained to be my husband will also believe that. I do understand where you’re coming from, it’s very important to have standards. At the same time i think we should view people with the same grace that God views us, to the point of sending His Holy and only Son to the earth to save, not to condemn. I love that Sutton said she was preparing herself to have to forgive someone’s past, i think that’s so beautiful and such a wonderful example of the love God has for us. He chooses to forget, and to throw the memory of our sin as far as the East is from the West. It might be hard, especially for our own human hearts, but i think it’s a beautiful heart posture to have. And it’s attainable through the sanctification we receive from the Holy Spirit. Anyway, i love what you do. Keep being a voice for the Kingdom. I just wanted to be a voice for some other women (or men) that might share some of the same experiences.

As a young man, these would be my non-negotiables (in no particular order): 1) Must be a feminine woman 2) Must actually love Jesus (shows spiritual fruits) 3) Must want to have kids 4) Must have a biblical worldview (all your actions and thoughts and words are influenced by what you read in Scripture) 5) Must want to be a biblical wife (as opposed to a secular wife that doesnt submit, that tries to lead, that prefers to go work and let her children be raised by a stranger rather than staying at home and taking care of her children) 6) Must read her Bible 7) Must believe in certain core doctrines (trinity, death and resurrection of Jesus, exclusitivity of Christ for salvation) 8) Cannot be a mordern-day feminist (which would include pro-abortion stuff) or an LGBTQ supporter 9) Must have a high view of marriage (no divorce, for example)

why does the woman submit… why can’t the man stay home and take care of the kids while the woman works
@apracity7672
2 жыл бұрын
@@lsilvi111 Thanks for asking. Here are my answers: 1) a wife ought to submit because wives are commanded to do so by God through the apostles of Jesus (Peter and Paul). See Ephesians 5: 22, Colossians 3:18 for Paul and 1 Peter 3: 1 for Peter Furthermore, it would also be disfunctional for wives not to submit to their husbands because leadership requires submission. 2) a non-widowed mother ought to stay home because taking care of her children and the home are her top priorities. Making money only comes after. See 1 Timothy 5: 13-14 and Titus 2: 3-5. Furthermore, woman were created by God to be the ones who nurture, not men. This is why women are the ones who become pregnant, are the ones who give birth, are the ones who are able to feed their children through breastfeeding. There is no reason to go against these commands of scripture and of common sense and of natural law. However, there might be rare cases in which the circumstances make it so that the mother/wife must leave the house and go work while the husband must stay at home. However, these are rare and should not be the norm. Hope this helps, best regards in Christ. If you have any other questions, I'd love to try to answer them!

@@apracity7672 *Actually, both men and women are asked to submit - if you read the Ephesians chapter in full context from top to bottom.* *God then describes how the woman should submit and how the man should submit.* *With regard to working - the Proverbs 31 woman was an entrepreneur, wife and mom. And she's not the only one 👉🏾 Deborah worked, Esther worked, Ruth worked, Tabitha worked, the list of working women goes on.* *Lastly, it takes an egg and a sperm to make a baby. Raising good children is the responsibility of both the man and woman, under God's guidance. Both parents need to balance each other (help each other out) - on how the children are raised. There're things only a mom can do, there're things only a dad can do, and some things both parents can do.*

@@gracechadi Hi Grace, If you haven't read my previous reply, you should definitely read it. It addresses the submission part. Nonetheless, I'm going to add to the explanation: In marriage, there is mutual submission. This is undoubtedly true, as Ephesians 5: 21 puts it. However, this does *not* mean that the husband is not the head of his wife and that the wife doesn't need to submit/yield to her head, which is her husband. 1 Corinthians 11: 3 - "But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God." The mutual submission is best exemplified in the wife when: she submits to her husband as she does to the Lord and in the husband when: he loves his wife as Christ has loved the church. Furthermore, there is no problem with mothers working. The problem is when she decides to work outside of the home while neglecting to take care of her precious children and her home. 1 Timothy 5: 13-14 and Titus 2: 3-5 makes this explicit. Furthermore, to say that the Proverbs 31 woman is an "entrepreneur" is exaggerated. We learn that this woman "considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks." This is homesteading. She and her husband own a field and she works on it. She is a hard worker, not an idle person who sits in front of the television all day. Lastly, I agree that raising children is a two parent job. Of course! However, to say that is must be 50-50 is not true. It is evident, as seen in all cultures around the world and for the past thousands of years, even in pagan cultures, the mother is the one who primarily nurses for her children, not the father. I would also like to add that if a mother wants to have children, only to send them off to an institution when they turn 4 weeks old so that they can be looked upon by other people, while she goes back to work, that's her decision. This decision can be made out of necessity and there is no shame in that. Like I said earlier, there are certain circumstances that can make that necessary. However, if the reasons are simply because the couple wants more money to go on two vacations, rather than 1, then that's not biblical. Lastly, I'd also like to make a comment on Hermeneutics. I noticed you referenced some OT characters in order to form your theology. This is always a last resort. Much of the history in the OT is mere descriptive. In other words, it's not prescriptive or normative. For instance, the Bible records David's adultery. This doesn't mean that we should do the same. Both the Apostle Peter and the Apostle Paul explicitly instructed women to manage their homes and to take care of their children and to submit to their husbands. We cannot ignore these verses. I hope this helped a little. If you have anything to add, I'd love to hear it. Best regards in Christ

He believes that all believers should and can speak in tongues and this is evidence of their salvation. I on the other hand I’m not Pentecostal, probably more akin to Baptized. Their church has an on campus ministry where all believers fellowship and I attend this. Should I continue to pursue him or not.

I want to encourage people - God does some of His best work with some of the most broken people. Do not be discouraged if your story does not look like the ideal. Mark 2:17 tells us that it is not for the healthy that Jesus came, but it is for the sick. You are not damaged goods, because He heals and redeems. His heart is for you! ❤ Paul in the Bible (a former murderer of Christians) becomes one of the most influential apostles to share God's love after he encounters Christ. The Bible is full of God choosing people that others rejected or overlooked (the woman at the well and David are prime examples). To be chosen by God is far better than to be chosen by humans.
