What are Non Nutritive Components?
The components which do not provide energy to the body are called non- nutritive components. They are required in a person’s diet to perform other functions such as transportation of nutrients and digestion of food etc.
WATER:
Our body consist of 70% of water in total body weight. An average adult needs 2-3 litres of water daily for a normal life. Water in the blood helps in the transportation of nutrients to various cells of the body.
ROUGHAGE:
It is known as fiber, which is a very important part of nutrition. It is the indigestible portion of food. Fibre comes from the part of plant based foods.
Source of fiber are- apple, lentils, green pea, avocado, strawberries etc.
