Why don't these safe manufacturers just add a lip to the door? Would at least buy some time.
@NWSafe
3 жыл бұрын
That's actually a really good design. Most manufacturers are using a formed door these days. You'll see an overlapping door lip on older designs. It definitely works but it's usually found on safes far heavier that what you see on these price point products.

Absolutely! But unfortunately most safe owners don't bolt there safes down. Which is unfortunate because it's fast and cheap to do and is the biggest security upgrade you can make to your existing safe. For the most part people think "their safe" is more secure and heavier than what it really is.

Welded to the support beam just gives me more leverage, so you've actually made the job easier. And if you're talking about a wood frame wall, I can cut a hole in your wall to make space to work with a Sawzall in about 1 minute. So you've made it one minute more difficult. If the safe is your only security, it will be breached.

That could possibly work on the Stack-On safe in the video. It has a simple solenoid lock which that technique works for opening that style of lock. The Liberty Safe however has a U.L. listed Electronic lock with a swing bolt that is locked until released by the combination. You can't bypass it with a rare earth magnet.

This is part one of a comparison test between an imported Chinese Made safe and a Liberty Safe that's made in the USA. They're clapping for several reasons, whether it's for the hard work the guys doing the test just put in or exposing the competitors safe for its poor build quality and lack of value.

I assume you’re referring to the metal blade for a reciprocating saw? The issue with cutting is there’s no place for the material to go and the other materials like the fire insulation and even the interior fabric create snagging, binding, etc making it more difficult than one might assume.

How much damage does this cause the safe. Reason I'm asking is my buddy got his safe pried open he spent over 1000 bucks on it. Can it be fixed and does the locking mechanism fail and break when pried? Is it just a piece of junk now?
@NWSafe

Hi Ron, there's a lot of variables on whether or not it's worth fixing the safe. First and foremost did you contact the manufacturer about a warranty replacement? If it's an import safe from China chances of getting replacement parts are slim. If you can contact our store with more info we could help figure out if it's worth fixing and a plan to do so.
@Trumpman425

Well after further inspection it's a piece of junk. The door doesnt close evenly and the turning wheel is jamed and the bolts are bent and cracked. It's a shame because he didn't have anything in it but he had it closed and locked. Ohhhhh well many people don't consider what they loose. Not only what is in the safe but you loose your now busted safe. Buy a better safe and don't end of being out for a while with no safe. Hard lesson learned indeed.

great idea to have the "safe"on feet so a pallet truck can easily wheel it off the premises. You can tell this thing is a bucket of shit as those guys easily tip it over while a REAL safe that size would weigh about a ton and not make the sound of a flimsy filing cabinet when it hits the floor
@NWSafe

Yes, a "real safe" would be a ton but 99% of what you find on the market isn't a TON and retails at a fraction of what a 2,000 lb. safe cost. This was a test done with 2 sub $1000 safes.
