SO many kids - so many kids - have obvious visual spatial learning problems, messy handwriting, trouble copying from the board, and trouble with word problems BUT do well with novels and writing (so long as you help them A LOT with editing). Maybe Visual Spatial Processing disability or difference would be a better diagnosis?

I have nvld and whenever I try to tell someone that I have a poor sense of time they're all "that's wrong, of course you have a proper sense of time you just need to pay better attention." But that doesn't work unless I check the clock every ten seconds, and if I did constantly check the clock, which I do, actually, when I'm waiting for something or I have a time limit, that would get in the way of things because I'm so distracted by checking the time that I can't pay attention to what I'm supposed to be doing.

I got it too, Bosses at work DON’T care most teachers could care less either, I lost count of how many times in my 44 years I’ve had Bosses looked at me like I’m stupid ( even if I knew the boss was much lower IQed than me) Or been asked “ Are you high?” Because I didn’t understand. I simply made up for what I lacked by doing what I could do, better than the rest. But I never got sympathy from anyone who was over me, I suppose it’s because nobody has heard of NVLD.

thanks for the info, why do you make these videos with crying babies in the background, I watched other videos on this channel with distracting noises in the background....very odd

Unfortunately, I felt the need to pause the video and say, why would one continue to let one's crying baby go on and on, instead of getting up and leaving the building?

People with NVLD are more social and has more interesting being social. Also they are often not hyperactive. Often Add, not ADHD

No. the symptoms do overlap quite a lot though. Intellectual disability is a much more debilitating condition than this LOL. It shares some symptoms with autism, ADHD, and also dyspraxia, but definitely look nothing like ID.

Use of ‘kiddo’ in lecture was distracting and annoying. Facts were good and helpful.
