Hi Catherine, I was lucky to get to Paris in October, and even though I caught Covid, I was able to visit Shakespeare and Company. I feel the same way as you do about finding books that I wouldn’t ordinarily find in the US. I love that Shakespeare and Company always has a book with a French theme and they usually books I’ve never heard of. Have a wonderful November! Aloha

I love your British history books and knowledge! I want to read more about the Tudor era but I have trouble getting past the Victorians because there is so much I want to read in that era! I loooove an English Breakfast too! That's a bummer the book is off to a slow start. I hope it picks up!

Some great recommendations for history books - the Richard III book looked very good.

I'm enjoying Unforgettable Unforgotten by Anne Buchan (O. Douglas), a memoir about growing up with her brother John and other siblings. Richard III and Cromwell, they were both murderers (probably), they had that in common. The Dudley biography looks interesting, Amy Robsart, "clumsy girl," (maybe) or another one in common. Plantagenets and Tudors, so violent, I like a full English breakfast too. Really enjoyed The Seven Kinds of People You Find in Bookshops, added bonus of being a fast read. The nature books are lovely.

I read a nonfiction book a few years ago titled Unseen City that was about observing nature in a city and I enjoyed that. Maybe I'll check out that one you showed, too! ❤ I'm planning to finally start Young and Damned and Fair this month (biography of Catherine Howard).
