Jordan Peele's 2022 science fiction thriller reviewed on 4K UHD disc. My opinion of this is that it's not the best film ever made but the way it was shot makes it rather special. 65mm and genuine 15/70 IMAX is as good as it gets and just like VistaVision shoots from years ago, that superior image quality shrinks down to give us the best quality release prints, or in this case, one of the best 4K discs.
This film appears to have caused a little confusion among those who wanted to see it as they were largely expecting a generic alien UFO film but this one has a bit of a different take on the usual formula. Don't expect another 'Close Encounters' and you may enjoy this one a whole lot more.
Aspect ratio varies from 1.33:1 to 2.20:1 to 1.78:1. Sound is Dolby Atmos and the sound is the perfect accompaniment to the wonderful image quality. A great example of why IMAX is the ultimate movie making medium. And in that regard, as I type this, a season of Christopher Nolan IMAX films is coming up at the BFI IMAX, Waterloo (just along from the Millennium Wheel on the south bank of the Thames in central London) in preparation for the 29th July 2023 release of his new film 'Oppenheimer'. If you appreciate the best that cinema has to offer, these films are the ones to see and on the UK's biggest screen.

Last thing to say is that I missed out an 'e' in 'announcement' in one of the captions towards the end. It was only once I'd uploaded the video that I spotted this so apologies for the oversight.
