I must say that’s very good branding to sell somebody else’s brand of product (something he didn’t make) as if his very selling it makes it an extra select example of that product… He’s kind of a dealer lot used car salesman, they do get a decent supply of reasonably good units and get to pretend the purchase is more assured and convenient for the big dollar premium you pay. This is optional for you but it’s easy.

Hey Norm, back in the 70s when you started the vault, were you buying new instruments and stashing them in there straight from the dealers? or was everything second hand then? Also, I'd hate to see what kind of insurance $$$ you're paying for that vault.

No way. If he had new old stock 1950s and 60s instruments, with shipping papers and tags and everything those would sell to elite collectors for an insane premium. They would mention the NOS status . In the 1970s, guitars were already not as good and there would be little reason to put away brand new ones, versus find prime examples from decades before. This leads me to believe that his minty stock are fluke finds from across America because the shop is so widely known.

I love these! They're all beautiful. Too bad they are now so expensive that us regular folk can never afford them. I always get a bit sad when they end up in some rich guy's collection never to be seen or heard again. Guitars should be played and there is no way they should end up costing kajillions. I guess that's why most players that I know are now playing Squires and the like.

Not all guitars should be played. Some are history. Grab a modem gibson to play on, not a 100yr old piece of history. It won’t last if people play it like that. Collector’s grade vs player’s grade. It’s like a classic old car, you don’t drive it daily, only on the special occasions.

@@CNFir-fs6zs George also stripped his Casino. Watch “Get Back”, the movie about the Beatles recording Let it Be. Georges Casino came equipped with a bigsby while Lennon’s came with the stock trapeze tailpiece.
