ᴛᴀᴋᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʜɪɴɢs ɪ ʟᴏᴠᴇ, ᴀɴᴅ ʟᴇᴛ ᴛʜᴇᴍ ᴅɪᴇ
ᴡɪɴᴅs ᴏғ ᴄʜᴀɴɢᴇ is the sixth single from NORMUNDY’s upcoming third full-length record. The song is about the experience of undergoing monumental change, from the anxiety felt at the onset of a transformation to the solace one feels in its finality. Above all, the track is meant to invoke a feeling a anticipation in the listener, similar to what one would feel as a storm in the distance begins to draw near; the wind picks up, the air tastes like rain, and a sudden chill comes rushing in.
The song resolves with the idea that the only way to cope with a massive shift is to become comfortable with letting go of what you hold dear. The river of life is ever-flowing, and no dam can block the inevitable waves of change carried upon the currents of time.
The track is an experimental rock/metal ballad with a mix of soft and aggressive singing, rap, cyberpunk-style cinematic synths, and a vibey guitar solo. The song was inspired by artists like Sleep Token, Bad Omens, and Nothing But Thieves, as well as the soundtracks of videogames like Cyberpunk 2077 and Deus Ex.
The music video is an animated take on the song's title and lyrical content. The foliage in the in the foreground wisps wildly as gusts of wind come passing through, while the mountains stand firm in the background. The overall landscape is meant to be another area on the alien planet where this album cycle's other music videos take place.

LYRICS
I feel the winds of change,
A storm is coming soon.
I step into the rain
And fade into the blue.
Just have a little faith.
Place trust in what you do.
Now peel the flesh away,
The bones begin to bloom.
Take the things I love
And let them die.
Everything I know,
I left behind.
Take the things I love,
Let them die,
And cast them back
Into the void.
Take the things I love
And let them die.
Everything I know,
I left behind.
Take the things I love,
Let them die,
And cast them back
Into the void.
Scorched earth from the lightning, set fire to all we know
Let the wind bring new beginnings on the wings of those who grow
Air is thinning at our home and it's hard for us to breathe
So let go of what confines you to find what you really need
A sign to seek relief
Tired of all the grief
No life if we all compete
Lost time made it hard to speak
Those eyes better open, see
That this is all that you should live for
I've tried to make my peace
But they just scream for me to give more.
Let rain wash over me.
Take the things I love
And let them die.
Everything I know,
I left behind.
Take the things I love,
Let them die,
And cast them back
Into the void.
Back into the void.
I feel the winds of change,
A storm is coming soon.
