Back in late July 2022 we made the trip down to Cornwall to pick up some carriages from the North Cornwall Miniature Railway, an extensive private line, open only rarely for charity, located in that vast, empty 'nowhere in particular' region bordered by Wadebridge, Bodmin and Launceston. We were simply amazed by what we found. Not a huge site, but this fascinating 10 1/4-inch line winds its way round and incorpates all manner of surprises, including 1:30 gradients, a tunnel, a diamond crossing, several impressive bridges and a whole fleet of fascinating steam, petrol and diesel locomotives. Do pop over on the next charity open day, because you will not be disappointed, and we haven't even mentioned the vast toy museum yet. Much more in Miniature Railway issue 56, summer 2022.
