Soviet/Russian tanks do not have a significantly lower ammo load out (39 vs 42 rounds). They have a crew of only three and it is a lot more cramp inside the tank. This reduced volume of space allows for a smaller tank and much less armor (by weight) to protect the smaller tank. You are not going to find too many 6' tall Russian tankers. lol

This lady is not a tank expert, She was an infantry officer in a mechanized unit of women. She mentions here military education for being an officer was in force protection "security" having been rank and file in the DPRK Coast guard. Lot of here takes is just anecdotal, she is talking with a very dismounts perspective about AFVs focused on how comfortable they were to ride on and here main take away about comparing world tanks was which ones look like they go fast. To be fair she sound like any long leg infantry officer who's job is leadership and talking like they know even when they dont rather then being the techie who knows stuff.

I think its less compartmentalizing and more the the crazy eastern block military bureaucracy and the pipe line she came from. She mentioned doing conscription as a ranker in the coast guard protecting nuclear sights and they dint keep her too confined from info about that she is sharing. Also she talks about doing military education in "security" which sounds like more force protection coast guardy stuff so not unlike is known to happen in western forces, even though she trained as coastal security forces they made here and infantry woman. probably just cause she was seen as politically reliable cause a women's mech unit sounds little political or maybe cause all here health issues she mentioned washed here out of what she was doing into a regular army unit .

"China wins with quantity. However, Russia wins with quality." Thinking about WW2; America has got to be running stuff from Star Wars at this point. Or, if you will: China has 100 duck size horses, Russia has 1 horse size duck, and the US has a dozen or so T-Rexs with M2 Brownings.
@HideyoshiKinoshita84

Russian quality is a myth that Russians spread as propaganda to hype themselves up and make their enemies afraid. Once reality kicks in and push comes to shove, the paper tiger is shown. The Ukraine war is only the most recent. A nation [Russia] that is 3x the size of their enemy with supposedly the 2nd strongest military in the world is struggling to invade a country they share a massive land border with. Russian forces are so badly equipped right now, they've lately been recorded using golf carts and civilian cars as "mobile assault" vehicles because they're running out of APCs/BMPs to attack trenches. They're so starved for manpower they empty their prisons and human traffick Cubans and Indians to throw into their army. The Afghanistan conflict and Chechen conflict also show their incompetence where they struggled where they should have been overwhelmingly superior. People who don't think might say America struggled in Afghanistan too, but the US Forces utterly destroyed the Taliban in any direct combat, and the Taliban opted to hide and wait until the US left. The Russians lost to Afghanistan in straight up conflict. Some people say USA also lost to Vietnam, but the Vietcong werr horrifically decimated whenever they tried to fight US Forces, relying on breaking the will of the American support for the war to outlast American will to fight rather than actually win in open warfare. Even far back as WW2, the vaunted propaganda T34 once actually broken down was inferior to Western Shermans. The Russians grossly struggled against the Nazis and it took being pushed to their capital, heavy winter, heavy British/US aid, and incompetence by Hitler to turn the tide.

The battlefield of the future won’t rely on tanks. They require an immense amount of logistics to keep them active. The use of drones and moving forward, robotics coupled with AI will be the main equipment used. Ironically it’s not going to be soldiers who will decide the outcome of a war but the ability to supply AI chips and by building the equipment in people less factories. Any country that doesn’t have access to this technology is slipping backwards every day. China is desperate for this technology, being able to steal the coding won’t help, you also need the manufacturing technology which is highly specialised and extremely expensive to set up. Not much room for experimenting.

Studying the Abrams wouldn't help. Reverse-engineering doesn't work unless you are equal to whatever it is you're studying. Even then, you won't be able to just figure out how something was produced and do it yourself. China's crappy knock-offs even while being repeatedly given "stolen" data on US war machines is an example of this at its absolute best. It's not hand-wave magic like it's portrayed in sci-fi and fanfiction. Russia already knows how to build good tanks. It just doesn't _use_ that knowledge because it doesn't care and knows NATO is not an enemy. Now that it's beginning to piss off NATO, Russia has started improving its tanks out of fear. They don't need to reverse-engineer anything. Their problem is a mix of corruption and knowing they were pretending about the west being their enemy.

The current model M-1A1 Abrams tanks can go up to 70 mph on pavement, they can go up to 45 or 50 in dirt fully loaded, backwards or forwards. They don't want to out run the APC's and Strykers in combat. In the last 20 years, tanks were hardly used in Iraq or Afghanistan. The tank crews went on foot patrol, just like infantry. The US Marines are getting rid of tanks so they can be more of a mobile strike force, leaving armor up to the US Army. Germany developed the main gun used by the US Abrams and British Challenger. The British developed the armor used on the US Abrams and German tanks. The driver can elevate his seat so he can stick his head out of a hatch on the hull to maneuver easier, but they "button up" (seal all the hatches) during combat, relying on vision slits with periscopes and cameras and monitors for backing up. The tank commander can also operate the tank from the turret and fire the coaxial guns by remote control.

South Korean tanks are better but North Korea has way more. It is proven in war quantity wins in the long rum over quality. No North Korea is building better tanks, might not be as good as South Korea but is better able to destroy them and with numbers the tide is tilting toward North Korea!

I don't want to be rude and misunderstood. But that part of the world to have a nightmare it's a good thing because if you have a good dream you're a capitalist. So maybe there good dreams are illegal. So nightmare is the norm. Because it's a norm and something usual, it means that it's a normal tank as usual...... nothing negative about that. They express happiness with nightmares. The proof of all of that is that if you stay at the end of the barrel of the tank your nightmare will stop.

As a war specialist... . Tanks are real tanks if.. . Grenade proof, Land mines proof, If the tanks had a detachable roller for anti landmines it could be a tank.. . If the skin of tanks is rpg and grande proofing then it could be a real tank. . Anyways anti kamikase drone, guided moter, guided artilery can still be detected if the tanks has a metal detector or radar and gives alarms... . If tanks are supported by anti drone tower radars the tanks are in relax combat... Anwyays building a tower of radar anyway is possibel.. even a truck radar can provide it. The anti drone auto shut gun shutter is possible... korea just need to build this concep of military weaponry... they could sell it or keep it privately. Ect... .hm... if USA buys is then why not its up to korea. Its just a idea. The best anti drones for tanks is u think a shutgunner auto detection.. through radar detection xy axis the shutguns will fires the flying drones.. thermlaly or imagery... hmmmm the problem is korea must develop that weaponry concept to strengthen their selves over other sovereignity... . Especially with cult mindsettings military...hmmm always go war than managing problem in able to sell their weapons ect. Hmmmm UN IS WASTES. They support war easily unjustified... they dont refereeing the two factions.. but they blindly biasly support instantly.. very disappointing forces... . Very stuborn and hard headed pridefull state(usa government officials and politicians).. hm..

This brave lady aside. 1st off have been in the US army and or reserves for 20yrs with 15 months in Afghanistan. Not proclaiming to be an expert nor being a seal, delta,oda,sad, sog or just some larper, that infest the web, so all will say is, am just a normal dude in the army reserves and a state motor officer with a wife and 3 kids and 2 dogs. But this video seems very biased as you left out one of the most powerful countries in Asia. And some things mentioned in this video is laughable. Like the T series tank speeding past the Chinese tank. Its obvious the Chinese tank was just cruising and not going full speed. To show that as an example just shows lack research or military knowledge on Chinese or Russian equipment. Also Russian, Chinese and DPRK tanks are all basically the same types of T series tanks. Very unprofessional to use such videos just to make fun or to give the idea that one country is more powerful etc. I do love the bit when Miss Kim talks about Kim Jong Un being an easy target but would not matter if the hatch was open or closed and any every tank crew is able to do that no matter what tank or country. So again lack of military knowledge as a US M1A2 driver can poke his head out just the same. Now I know Japan and Korea don't get along. And also a German born Japanese/German now a dual citizen yank living in the US. Yes there are Japanese born Germans in Germany. Father German Japanese with a German mother. Wife is also German but we have family in Germany, Japan and the US. So politics aside. Japan has one the most advanced and most expensive tanks in the world IE the Type 10 and the Type 90 is no slouch either. As well as very advanced subs, ships and planes and nearly all their military items are domestically designed and built. Just the F35 and Osprey etc being the exception but those are manufactured in Japan as well as airliners like the 787, US designed but built in Japan. No secret that Japan is 10-20yrs ahead of the world and have been for decades now. Small country, but still one of the most powerful, influential, economic and political countries on the planet. Japan also has the 4th largest/powerful navy in world and the Army stands as the 5th. JNSDF and JGSDF respectively with JASDF being in the top 10. Japan also has nuclear technology and can build a weapon in months if not sooner. Point is in any situation with the DPRK, Japan will be a major player in the overall defense of the ROK. So find it kind disrespectful to name just the US, China, Russia and of all places Germany as examples. As a German national myself? Germany has next to nothing to do with anything that, happens in Asia. Our miltiary is no where near close to any Nato or allied country. With that said Germany always had very close ties with Japan. Pardon the long rant stuck in a lounge at the airport waiting on a flight. 😗

It's really sad when you think about how she's been manipulated and brainwashed by the North Koreans only for her to escape to South Korea and yet again be tricked and manipulated into being a sock puppet for South Korean propaganda. When they showed videos of the Chinese tank being "out sped" by the Russian tank I already know this channel is full of BS and they're literally treating her like a 10 year old kid who doesn't understand basic concept of acceleration and speed of moving heavy objects.

Very interesting lady. Perhaps she’s right that China is less technically superior to Russia. But I would not think that will matter if China went all out. As in the WW2. The Germans it could be argued in many areas of combat technology opted for technical superiority, and not to do the Russians down, but the T34 was not made as complicated, but in its self earned a level of technical robustness and were able to churn them out in vast quantities.. ere go quantity will win and can afford the losses over technical higher scorers if the latter is of numbers pitifully low and cannot afford the losses.

The fact that this woman displays such technically lacking and severely antiquated military notions, yet she was first an officer, and then a regional overseer of tanks and self propelled artillery, should show just how deep the incoherences of the North Korean military are. The military hobbyists of most Western countries would know more and have more cognizance of modern artillery and tank military doctrine than she has, and it’s not because she is “incompetent”. It’s simply because North Korea’s system exists only to ensure that the dictatorship stays in power, and everything is just so brutally antiquated that they’re training their specialists to think in armored operations terms that were already inadequate half a century ago. I’m really glad that she made it back to civilization, and I hope that North Korea will soon be free.

All western tanks models and fighting vehicles sent to Ukraine were mostly destroyed by Russians drones :) This make the tank kinda useless without a proper protection against FPV! Abrahams were the easiest to destroy. The highest chance of crew survival was insured by Leopard 2 tanks. North Korean tanks have no chance on a modern battleground. It seems that the most adapted tanks to for the modern battle are the Russian tanks, they are lighter, faster, lower profile, only 3 member crew and much cheaper to produce, for the price of a western tank the Russia produce 3 or 4 T90! The lady spotted a real truth of the modern war: the SPEED! But the next war will be nuclear, classic war with troops and armed vehicles is outdated.
